all reviews » Superb hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Arrived early to leave my bags but was told there was a room available - not the best room but it was ready now. So I happily checked in and was taken to my room and shown a shortcut out rather than the maze through hotel. Room was slightly small but lovely. Super comfy bed, quiet, lovely bathroom, great facilities. Cookies were provided in the room on arrival and in the evening a complimentary fruit platter and mineral water was delivered. A t. from the moment i walked in with the friendly staff awaiting me! was booked in and recieved an upgrade how fantatic!! went to the jugged hare and spent the afternoon i then had an fastastic meal and met ben the house manager who saw my room card and in a whisker had organised a bottle of wine to my doplex suite!! i normally stay at the holiday inn corporate platinum but no more!! i shall be staying at the montcalm at the brewery every time!! thanks ben,adeel and ameillia for everything!!. 5* hotel located northly in 'the city', at junction east end - city - soho. This is a nice location, especially if you like to visit London a bit atypically. Because of the location it's actually quite a lot cheaper than a comparable hotel in Westminster / Mayfair / Chelsea. I can't think of any other reason. Good service, really friendly staff, rooms were perfect and serviced twice a day. The staff were very attentive, polite and helpful and could not be faulted. Both the room and bathroom were very clean and well fitted out, if a little tired and dated. Unexpectedly there was a turndown service with fresh fruit left in the room - impressive! Had the room been slightly larger with a reasonable amount of daylight I would have considered staying there for a longer period. I spent the first hour staying in London City Suites wondering why on Earth I ever stayed at any other hotel in London! Cheaper than The big chains, located at a perfect spot, architecturally awesome, design is fresh, warm, luxurious, amenities and decor are all of very good quality. Staff is perfectly elegant and very polite! It is all soft, beautiful, exquisite and quiet. The staff was very welcoming and very helpful with some changes I had to make with my reservation, even late at night. The rooms, although small were comfortable and the complimentary coffee, tea and fruit plate were very thoughtful. I gladly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in London, in a calm neighborhood not far from all the main attractions. Our room was not available so they transferred us to their sister Hotel across the road the Montcalm. A 5 star hotel. We were given a suite with Club Lounge access for a continental breakfast and canapes and drinks in the afternoon. We booked a room at London city suites but they kindly upgraded us to the Montcalm hotel which had great facilities and amazing friendly staff. When we entered the Montcalm hotel, we were informed that we had been upgraded again to a family suite which had a lounge area, a comfortable bed and 2 bathrooms. Very happy with this, it was a wonderful place. very friendly staff. they checked us in early (10 am) and then changed our small room to a bigger one upon our request. clean rooms and daily housekeeping was made. cooperative staff: they got us tickets for a football match and for buckingham palace. location is near two tube stations (5-7 mins walking) Convenient for tourism trips. An expensive place, but ideally suited for The Barbican concert hall, only 15 minutes walk from St Paul's cathedral, the London Museum. It is the overwhelming care and consideration of the staff which makes this place so pleasant, however, particularly all the lovely young men who meet and greet and look after you. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and we were met by extremely friendly, professional staff who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was amazing. The room was wonderful, the little extras made it a special stay and we had an amazing sleep. Would definitely stay there again and can't wait to revisit!. The building was well converted and attractively presented. The room was quite small but well furnished with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Service from all front of house staff was exceptional from the moment we were spotted by a porter a bit lost on arrival through to a birthday cake in the room (it was a 60th celebration weekend) , organising taxis,returning stuff left in safe all of us in our party were really impressed. We checked in early ( 8am) and was very impressed with the staff's respect for our all night travel. They upgraded our room from standard to club room. Doormen were exceptionally nice and as were the front desk staff. Room was very spacious...not the typical London small broom closet !!!. Security is excellent with entry staffed 24/7. The wonderful Staff, the whole place is very clean and the value of the suite I totally recommend staying at this hotel. The hotel name is known to many people as The brewery & Montcalm. So I guess they should update the name here. We liked everything about our stay at the London Suites. The room was quite small and I imagine those travellers used to true 5 star rooms would have been disappointed. We weren't at all and this is a minor quibble in what was a very enjoyable night's stay. We weren't aware until we arrived that you had to leave a £50 deposit per room for the mini bar. This was put back into my account the following Thursday so this could of potentially left us £100 short for the weekend spend. i really could not find anything everything was perfect Thanks Again. Nothing. The bathroom was VERY weird in modern kind of way. A VERY small sink facing in a weird direction.....no shower stall ( open concept) so water goes everywhere. Pillows not that comfortable. Didn't enjoy sitting at the pass in the Jugged Hare the first night being a female dining alone and having to sit on a high stool while dining as they didn't have tables available but not all tables were occupied. Bed pillows were not comfortable, way too thick, but I was able to use small decorator throw pillow. Room was very small but efficient. Breakfast was very expensive (£24.95 each person) so we declined this option. The room location was a little tricky I would recommend an clever IT system for the guidness internally . RF tags will do it. The second room we had was at the back of the house and due to the constant hum of an air conditioning unit outside I had bet little sleep. They are totally disconnected. Never again. -location is not what expected; it is almost away from the city centre -rooms are small. Room was smaller than expected and it seemed to be a small double. To be honest.. nothing. My only complaint would be the shower door. We couldn't seem to position correctly it so that it wouldn't leak water onto the floor. Very minor. The location of the hotel was on a busy road and the traffic noise was constant but that's unavoidable in London and its location in terms of where I needed to be was excellent. It is a bit of a rabbit warren inside the hotel itself. Took a day or so for me to remember fully how to get back to my room - but there was always staff to help me until I got the directions down-pat!. The location wasn't amazing but that can't be helped. The pillows were a bit lumpy and the cotton scratchy. Nothing to dislike at all, not the biggest room in the world but no problem with that. As always, the hotel taking a retainer in my debit card. What happened to trust?. A strange support pole in the middle of the room, painted black, and invisible in low light, I was concerned I bump into that in the middle of the night, luckily I slept all night and the problem did not arise. Dinning felt fussy, quite cramped, to many little pots of things. The food was good. No bar to have a drink in so had to go out.
