The Majestic is a wonderful Edwardian Hotel that is run very efficiently by an enthusiastic staff. The standard of decoration is very high and we loved all the original marble and other features. Ask to be shown round the gentlemen's toilet downstairs - it's quite amazing!. The staff were courteous and helpful. Our room was spacious and well equipped. My wife and I relaxed and used the hotel's leisure facilities (gym and pool). We used the bar - which was comfortable and atmospheric.

Unfortunately, we had to wait in the corridor for in excess of 10 minutes before being seated for breakfast. Bar prices a little on the high side. service at dinner was rather slow after ordering. Paying for the parking of our car at the hotel when we were paying guests.the heat. No view. Room was in off a refurb ,cleanliness could have been better.Disapointed wit the groundsspoiled by the markies and tents. Car park charges for guests. The bedding was in nead of being replaced with new. The blanket on our bed was threadbare in places. I do realise that there is a lot of refurbrishment taking place, as we were showen round some of the updated rooms. But to continue using worn bedding does not seem right in a hotel of a certain standard, which you are attempting to live upto. N/A. Paying for car parking. paying twice for my daughters evening meal on both nights when i had already paid half board for two people!. leaking roofs in places - a little run down but being improved. For us the only down side was the lift. Being old it seemed like it would never get to its destination in time.Lack of decorations on window ledges in corridors etc. Dining room draughty. Car park charges. as the hotel was large some public rooms were very bare and unused. The room was too small. Price should have included breakfast. We thought the hotel was very tired looking, especially the bedroom. For a premium room, it was spacious, but the furniture was a selection of odds and ends, the bed was clearly old and looked it. It is an old hotel and therefore difficult to maintain but the publiuc rooms were of a better standard than the bedroom. Afternoon tea was served with Squirty Cream !! instead of Clotted Cream, what a let down!. The service in the restaurant on an evening was slow and a little disorganised however we have stayed at this hotel on many previous occasions and not had this problem. Was phoned in early hours by reception staff suggesting there had been a complaint that our television was on too loudly when in fact it had not been on at all.having to pay for the car park. Room was not cleaned very well after first night, toiletries and bottled water not refreshed.Currently undergoing much needed extensive refurbishment to guest rooms and public areas. car park fee. bit run down in public areas and exterior paintwork.

From the North: From A1 North, before reaching the a1(m), leave the A1 following the signposts for Ripon and the A61. Continue past Ripon and follow the signs for Harrogate. Just before the town centre, the hotel can be found on the left.
From the South: From A1(M) south: Leave the A1(M) at Wetherby onto the A661 following signs for Harrogate. Follow signs for the town centre. At the traffic lights at the bottom of Parliament Street continue straight ahead, past the Swallow Hotel and Harrogate Centre. The hotel is located on the right hand side.
Alternatively: leave the A1(M)at the A59 exit for York/Harrogate following signs for Harrogate Town Centre. Once in town the Barceló Harrogate Majestic Hotel is located directly behind the Harrogate International Centre.
