We transferred to Stay City after cancelling another hotel nearby which was sub-standard. We loved Stay City - the apartment we got was fantastic, staff couldn't be more helpful in rearranging the double bed into a twin for us or in providing us with maps and information. The apartment was well equipped with small amounts of tea and coffee to get you through initially. There's a local shop around the corner and a tesco express / sainsbury's express 2-3 mins walk away. This was excellently locat.
all reviews » Family with 2 with teenage kids, It was an extremely clean and modern apartment with a well equipped kitchen and furnishings. It appeared to be brand new. Very warm in fact almost to warm we ended up sleeping with the window open even though it was snowing. Comfy double bed with sliding doors separating it from the kids sleeping on the sofa beds in the lounge area. This was much better than having a family room in a hotel. It was an easy walk into to the city centre but in a quiet location. We . The receptionist was very helpful and checked us in very quickly as well as direct us to the right block(the reception and the apartment are separate, therefore we need to drag all our luggage to the reception and then back to the apartment, luckily there's lift); a phone available at reception to enable you to ring for taxi the rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfy; situated at quiet area,we slept well for 3 nights; tesco express 5min away, you can all the food you need for cooking;. The bathroom was beautiful and the flat was very modern and stylish. I loved the balcony and just the whole feel of the place. I enjoyed chatting to the receptionist whilst checking out. She was very friendly and nice and spoke about her travels to Austria. I will be visiting there soon. I can quite honestly say that this has been my favourite apartment/hotel to stay in and I've traveled quite a bit. I will be back for sure. We travelled as a group of 9 girls, the apartments were only 10 minutes walk from princes street/railway station, which were situated on the canal. Everything was in very easy access or a short taxi ride. This is not the first time I have stayed at Staycity Apartments, very modern and immaculate. I highly recommend them to couples, families and groups and I will be staying again. Very modern decor. WIFI. Parking. One very helpful reception member of staff who located a connecting cable for our DVD (that was missing) and also went off and found a plug (basket) for the kitchen sink despite it being 8PM in the evening. I don't know his name but it was the evening of Tuesday 2nd April (I think!). We took my mum and dad (81 and 89) to Edinburgh for the Tattoo. Everything we needed was in the apartment and it had good access to parking. Easy access to Edinburgh. Good space for family interaction. Staff were great and ensured we had a room that was close to the lifts for the parents. Fantastic. Really handy location. Apartments where lovely and nice and clean we stayed in both a deluxe and standard and would recommend paying the extra if you are there for a few day or there is more than two of you as the standards are quite small if you had the 4 adults that it says it can hold. There were 4 of us on a girlie weekend and this apartment was a wonderful place to stay. Fantastic location only about a 10 mins walk to princes street. Clean and tidy. Beds looked comfy but I ended up on a sofa bed. We got a huge balcony and it was nice and quiet so nice nights sleep. Comfortable apartment near the city center. Friendly staff, closed garage, elevator, free wifi. The apartment is equipped with a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room. Everything is very clean. To the city center it takes 5 minutes.I Would recommended hotel to my friends. The apartments are well positioned for access to public transportation. Multiple restaurants and shopping are available within a short walk. The tourist sites are within a very reasonable walk. The price for staying in Scotland is very reasonable and the staff is excellent. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable, we had a two bedroomed apartment, one en-suite which was perfect for our family. The kitchen and bathrooms were very well equipped and we had great views from the fourth floor - highly recommended and we will return. Large size one bedroom apartment with separate bedroom; good equipment & utensils with washing & dryer machine. Walking distance to Waverley Station for Hop on off Bus & Castle etc. Handy Tesco etc & good Pubs with good food & drink. Car park. Love the apartment, it was well maintained and the kitchen was very well equipped so having meals indoors was easy to manage as the supermarket was only 4 mins walk away. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again if we go Edinburgh again. I liked that the apartments were so close to all amenities and only a short walking distance away from city centre attractions. It was convenient in that we could cook for ourselves when we wished - home from home. It was also quieter than staying in a hotel. the apartment is excellence, all kitchen equipment is new and clean, room are big and comfortable. Very suitable for family with children to stay. the hotel is very near bus station which is still convenient, I would definitely wanna go back to stay. We stayed in one of the town houses. Was a lovely 3 story house over looking the water. Wish we could of stayed longer!! We have stayed twice now at stay city apartments and we will certainly be staying again the next time we come to Edinburgh :). The Appartment was very modern and well kept. Couldn't really fault anything about it. Location was a short walk away from local shops and bars. Now I know there are appartments in other cities I will definately be using the company again. We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade from a 2 bed apartment to a 4 bed townhouse, which our bride to be was delighted with! The staff were very friendly and the location was superb. The accommodation was spacious and group friendly. Newer place, very clean and much bigger than we expected! Washing machine in the place too. We enjoyed our stay and would come back. Parking available in secure garage. Walkable to Edinburgh castle and lots of restaurants, etc. Stay city staff very helpful, we were upgraded to a canal side town house which was peaceful and had shops and restaurants nearby. 10 minute walk to Castle and the Camera Obscura, fantastic views of Edinburgh from the top. Fantastic apartment.. The one that we got was kept in immaculate condition, like the one shown to prospective buyers! Kitchen utensils were top of the range and adequate. Overall great place to stay. Highly recommended.. The kitchen facilities were good, beds were comfortable, apartment was modern and liveable, price was affordable. Had a great city break and the apartments were brilliant. I would definitely stay with Stay City again. The buildings are pretty new and that means everything works fine. It is also very confortable and the apartments are big. It is not in the touristic centre, but it is not that far away, you can easily walk there. Location,parking,staff were friendly,polite and very helpful. Even though there was a lot of stag and hen party's our sleep was not disturbed at all which was grt as I was running the Edinburgh Marathon next day. The room's facilities were very good. Obviously new. The shower room was good. We were only two people, if we Had, had a third adult.....it would Have been too cramped in the Room. Good value for the price paid. The facilities were like home. Unfortunately being next to the entrance door there was a constant slamming of the door, if that could be solved it would have been perfect for us. Well finished appartments,noise was limited,nice location easy to walk into centre or train/bus facilities close to hand.Staff were really good and put right the few issues we had without delay. nice and helpful staff during check-in, and the manager during check out. clean apartment (especially compared with the Staycity in Dublin we stayed in) being able to keep the family together. As a group of 5 ladies of different ages we found the apartment very spacious with all mod cons and very easy to walk into Princes Street, Edinburgh. Also some lovely restaurants in the area. We loved the convenient location and the independence of our stay at the apartment. Also, we appreciated the quality and design of the apartment, everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Good value for what was on offer. A family would find it excellent value. A secure, private suite with everything you would want. Excellent parking facilities - important in a city. The apartments were very central to all amenities in the city centre. They were very clean and of a good standard. The decor was nice and quiet trendy and minimal. We were visiting Edinburgh University open day, the apt was clean comfortable and in a convenient location for the uni, shops restaurants and sightseeing. The fire alarm went off two nights running at 3:00 am, fortunately both false alarms. After the second time I think the guests who had been smoking in their apartment and set the alarm off were asked to leave. The washing machine broke but the staff found us one to use in an vacant apartment. Would have liked a little more information on local amenities and on operating kitchen equipment. A bit further probably 15-20 min walking distance to princess street( the main street); £200 deposit a bit expensive however I managed to get the money back within 5 days and no deduction at all as we cleaned the place from top to bottom just in case!. This is just nit picking as I was *very* satisfied with my stay. The buzzer/intercom didn't work and I had ordered food so had to go down to collect it. I think there should be a pint of milk rather than the milk you get. I got a bit lost trying to find my room. I think someone to help with bags and show you to your room would be a nice touch. Noisy fan in bathroom. Noisy boiler and doors in apartment that slammed each time you went through them. only thing (as said in the like) is that the standard apartments are small if you had the 4 adults staying (only 2 of us so fine). Didn't like the sofa bed but I expected that to be uncomfortable. The beds could have been better. The couch hide a bed had not been cleaned. Debris fell out from the cushions, when we removed them to pull the bed out. Nothing - it exceeded our expectations. Nothing. Nothing. TV was a bit on the small side - but then again we didn't watch a great deal of TV whilst we were there!. If it is a double twin bed for four people instead of one twin bed and one sofa bed would be great. We requested a travel cot that wasn't in the townhouse when we arrived but when I called reception, someone came very quickly with one. nothing, can not fault anything with our stay. A bit away from the city centre, not much , but a little over a mile. So walking is not an option if you're with kids or seniors. Just a couple of things. When we arrived we were confused about how to get in and find the room. There were a lot of different doors and carrying heavy cases between them to find the right one after a long journey was not fun. Also, there was a small bin in the room but I didn't see any recycling facilities ... Perhaps the apartments could be more environmentally considerate?. The buildings can be a bit of a labyrinth to a newcomer, and the staff is not very helpful to explain clearly how to find your apartment. The apartment was very very small for a family of four and pictures on the Internet were very deceiving!. We had a bit of trouble finding Staycity apts. I did not print out a larger map, The small one Was no good, did not show location clearly. There was only one thing I was disappointed in. Not a lot really,just ensure you check the inventory on arrival and report anything missing/damaged as we found several things that if we had not reported may have been deducted from the £200 security deposit,other than that its a great place to stay. location was a bit remote, surrounding area seems desolate, windows were difficult to keep open or closed, dirty sleeper sofa mattress (manager addressed this when we checked out) ensuite should be with the king bed, not the twin beds room. Nothing. We really cannot think of anything. However, we would have liked to have driven to the apartments but the parking costs of £12.00 a day would have taken us over our budget. That is the only possible negative. The full length mirror should be in the hall, not in the bedroom behind the door. (minor point) The area was handy for the centre of Edinburgh but was a bit run down, which meant it wasn't a pleasant walk back at night. Room was a lot smaller than the photo. Nothing not to like. Nothing. The rotten weather but you can't organise everything!. Nothing!. Key fobs had to be collected and returned every time we parked as there weren't enough, which was inconvenient. Had to wait in a queue for keys to be returned before we could enter the car park. £12 a day for this!. The apartment was a bit hot and stuffy, no way of cooling it down. The bedroom was a bit small. No lift. We were on the 2 nd floor with heavy bags. Not very nice to carry them even though the manager helped us on the way up no one was there on the way down. The kitchen was great but the pans were not acceptable. More crockery needed to utilise the dishwasher facility perhaps (not a major problem). Could be ready for a refurbish as there were some marks on walls and holes/dents in plasterwork from previous occupiers but overall not bad. The lighting in the apartment for getting ready to go our on our night out was quiet poor. There was only 1 mirror in the hallway. Would have liked mirrors in the bedrooms, full length. Nothing really. That it may take up to 23 days to refund my deposit seems excessive! I will watch my statement with interest, if it does take that long then visiting several cities on a tour could prove expensive! A tea towel in the kitchen would have been useful too. Teething problems with heating meant it was hot ! Bathroom could go with actual hanging racks for towels / clothes as towel rail too small. Shower placement meant floor got wet no matter what you did, needed extra floor mats .
