The apartment was modern, spacious and extremely clean, with a huge window overlooking Nicholson street. We relaxed watching the world go by and still the noise wasn't a problem at all. The area has any facility that you might need, and it takes you about 10 min on foot to reach the Royal Mile. Or you might catch a bus, which is just round the corner. We travelled with our 2 kids aged 7 and 4, they loved going up and down the apartment and we felt safe.

I was initially dismayed to find the apartment is in a Hall of Residence but there was no appreciable noise from the student element of my fellow residents. Apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Good location...in Edinburgh old city, only 10-15min walking to rail station and Royal Mile. Apartment is clean and quiet, equiped with a good Kitchen, a bathroom, as well as an useful Safe box especialy. Room rate is reasonable. we really enjoyed our stay at Richmond Apartment, and the staff were very helpful. We liked everything about the apartments. They were very self contained. Everything you needed was there.Toilet was so clean with white towels. Bed was comfy and clean .Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast,pots, pans etc. The location was very central. Loved our stay and will stay again. Kitchen had everything you needed and was modern and clean. Helpful guide book on how to use equipment. The room had free wifi which worked well. The room had a good lock on the door and felt safe. The 'safe' was easy to use and welcome so I didn't have to take valuables everywhere with me. We stayed in room 114. And the room was amazing. We could not belive how good it was for the price. As a group of 3 women we were in edinburgh for a friends birthday. The apartment was in the perfect location for the shoos and bars. The atmospher in these apartments was very good as most of the apartments were inhabited by foreign students.The rooms were well fitted out with clean en-suit bathroom. The 24hr reception desk was very helpfull and flexible when it came to check out. This apartment is very clean and very close to all attractions. It is located less than 0.5 miles from attractions from and we walked to every where. They also have a very secure entry and friendly staff. It was a beautiful city and accomodation. Rooms with mezzanine level bed was great open plan especially with a baby. Checked in early and room was ready. Baby cot already in the room bathroom was lovely and clean and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. For family of four good for short stay. I stayed in an apartment with a mezzanine bedroom,brilliant. Plenty of room for 2 people. The location is near many restaurants and supermarket, although it is a few minutes walk to the city center. Only complaint was that the layout of the apartment was very long and narrow - more of a corridor than a room - and didn't feel very welcoming. Nothing really. It would be great if there was parking but we managed to park in the street diagonally to the apartments for £8-60 from Saturday afternoon until we left on Sunday. I was right above the kitchen so the noise at certain hours was quite loud. There is nothing we didnt like. nothing however if you have a car. No parking on site. Nothing!. Nothing. Do not expect any nice view from windows. But this is not so important, if you will only sleep in this apartments. No sockets near the mirror. Cooker a but tricky to work as well as the heating. The sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable, but not too bad. The layout of the building itself is a bit strange with long corridors leading to our room. But it was not a big issue. VERY uncomfortable sofa bed, really only suitable for one person to sleep on. The lack of privacy as there was only glass separating the bedrrom area upstairs from the downstairs sofabed. No TV in the bedroom, quite hard small sofa - but considering everything else this would not put us off going again. There was nothing we didn't like. The only window in our room could be opened just partially so the ventilation was far from ideal, might be problem in summer. One "bed for two" was pretty uncomfortable folding couch with thin matrace with springs in it. The only thing I could say is that the room was too hot, but no drama at all. Only issue was that we stayed with my 18 year old son & 21 year old daughter and they had to share a sofa bed. It's not obvious from the description when booking for 4 that both bed(s) are doubles. I think walls are quite thin so it could be a little noisy when people are in and out of their rooms. no tv in bedroom and only one armchair in lounge area - we had to use one of the dining chairs. no bath. Not too keen about the check out time 10.30am is a bit too early!. Only complaint was sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable. However we only stayed 1 night and that was fine. No parking on site and the only public parking is very expensive. Started in Room 134. Coded as a Superior room, but did not look like photos on website. Was not a mezanine, lots of wasted space at the entrance, 1 tv, and every part of the room closed-off by fire doors. Bad layout. Moved to room 119. Better as this was a mezanine, and had 2 TVs, but had only 1 window. It gets hot in the bedroom on the 2nd floor when the window is on the first floor. Rooms 113 and 114 have better layout, windows and views. Found the bed a bit uncomfortable the 2nd night and a bit stuffy. Too hot, and also the walls are too thin - We can hear everyone else around us. It would be quite expensive if I was on my own. The only thing we didn't like was the uncomfortable mattress on the bed settee every spring was felt !! Really needs replacing . We stayed in apartment at front on busy street if windows closed very stuffy if open very noisy could do with some sort of air conditioning otherwise very good. Taxi is most convenient public transportation if you choose to stay in this apartment. the sofa bed was not comfortable. the room was very warm with no aircon, which in august was a bit uncomfortable. There was no comfy settee to sit and watch the television - just 1 armchair and there was 2 of us!. I don't have any complain. Seating not very comfortable and sofa bed in living room was very uncomfortable.
