What people say
Staff are friendly, room is nice and quiet. Everything is clean and tidy, including the bathroom. Bed is of good quality. Breakfast is a choice of 3 and I took the omelet which is ok but it seems the full English one is better. Also worth mentioning is Fresh milk is served or self-served 24 hr. Will stay again when visiting Cambridge.
I have stayed many times now and it is my first choice when i need to stay in cambridge due to the value for money, when i arrived i advised that i was unable to stay for breakfast and was advised that they would make me a pack lunch. which was far beyound my expectations, a great place to stay and i will stay again soon.all reviews »
We stayed one night, and it was just right! The staff was friendly,
and as we were spending our time around Cambridge and not in the room,
is was perfect for just sleeping and getting dressed. Breakfast was
great! Fast, hot and tasty! There is parking at no extra charge, and
it was clean.
Very comfy bed. Good location, a 20 minute walk into the city by the river. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast in a relaxing dining room. We were allowed to leave our vehicle in their free car park on the last day whilst we did a bit more sightseeing.
The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great! It's only 10 minutes to walk to the city center, through the beautiful park of Jesus Green, so excellent location!.
The free car park is a big plus, as all of the local roads seems to be
resident parking only. Hamilton Lodge is only about 15-20 minutes walk
from the centre of Cambridge, and very close to the river and
Chesterton.
Fabulous breakfast, and friendly staff. Great location for walking into
Cambridge (10 mins walk) We were allowed to leave our car in the carpark
on the day we checked out whilst we looked around Cambridge.
Everything about this overnight stay was excellent from initial booking in, the cleanliness of the room, the excellent, strong wifi signal to the perfect breakfast on exit. Defiantly use again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Spacious room with good-size bathroom. Excellent breakfast and very accommodating in packing a lunch when we had to leave early in the morning on our second day.

The staff were particularly friendly. I liked the breakfast very much too, especially bearing in mind the very low price for it. And the hotel was impressively good value for money.

Great for the budget-traveller. Good breakfast. I can't sing their praises enough, however, for accommodating me after booking the wrong day.

Modern, although small, en-suite.

Clean room, quiet
Friendly staff
Supermarket in near proximity
Good value for money.
Location is nice and quiet but comparatively off the city centre. Nothing a few minutes walk can't solve though.
The room was itsy bitsy and there wasn't a back up of toilet roll,
and it was hard to keep the temp comfortable (either boiling, or
freezing). But, we managed. ;).
The wifi was intermittently not working.
The fridge wasn't clean and the blind was broken in our room, and
also in my son's room.
TV was a bit small. :).
Walls were a bit thin and there were football fans in the room next to us which wasn't the fault of the lodging.
Room not very attractive, window frames not very clean, dirty hands when
opening the window.
A mug in my room was a little unclean, and a light did not work. I did not mention either fact. Also, the room did not darken much at night. Evidently, part of the reason for the hotel being such excellent value is that little is spent on refurbishment. I was happy overall.
On busy main road, so quite noisy at night.
Nothing.
The walls are quite thin - so you can hear conversations and TV programmes quite audibly.
Laminate floor in bedroom makes the room a tad cooler.
Towels weren't particularly big. I appreciate it must take a lot to wash a lot of big towels, and it wouldn't put me off coming again, they are just my personal thoughts. Not a complaint, just an observation. We enjoyed our stay and would happily stay there again.
The room could have been cleaner... a few cobwebs and the hoover they use is not one that picks up hair so although the carpet looked clean there was a lot of hair on the floor. This would not put me off staying again though.
none.
The only very small thing I can think of was there wasn't a hook on the bathroom door to hang a dressing gown.
No complaints.
Nothing.
The TV !, Had a problem with it , the staff tried very hard to fix but unable to .
N/A.
- The kettle in the room was kind of dirty but I washed it in the sink available in the room.
- The room was very small but I was staying alone and only one night so it was not a problem at all.
Carpets a bit old-fashioned
Needs more modernisation.
The shower wasn't particularly powerful.
Room is a bit cold.
Breakfast only served til 9.30 which seemed quite early for a weekend.
there was nothing not to like.
Nothing really, it was great.
this is not a critisism but it could do with some re- decoration.it was value for money.
Other guests running about in the car park at night but they were spoken to after a request to reception and things calmed down. The shower drain needed unblocking.
For the price we paid this place was above expectations.
The toilet and shower were a bit of a trek from our room, but never had problems waiting for it to be free.
You should pay for the city map. Lond way to city centre (but it was nice walking). Room in ex-garage =).
Not a fault as such but you need a taxi to reach from train station.
Everything was fine. However, do not expect five star quality.
