What people say
The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make us
feel special, such as preparing a meal especially for us when we arrived
late on friday night (they even bought it up to our room when we asked).
I also left my book behind which they posted free of charge. The
bedroom, sherbourne, was simply gorgeous, with a four poster bed and a
large luxurious bathroom. Everything was very clean and well thought
out, including the option of fresh milk for making tea in the bedroom

Room - very comfortable. Good shelf of up-to-date books. Twin beds pushed together - very comfortable. Good breakfast. Nice bathroom. On rear of building, over courtyard, away from traffic noise. Ian, the owner, was helpful and available, as was the under manager (?) whom we met at breakfast. Quiet sitting rooms front and back. Excellent restaurant in Sheep Street (The Lamb) as Burford House chef away during our visit.
The room was very comfortable. Attention had been paid to detail. The breakfast was delicious - all freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Ian, the owner, and his staff could not have been more helpful. Will go back again. Burford village is very pretty. I highly recommend both the village and the hotel.
My friend and I meet up once a year and opted for a twin room. We were very impressed;the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very comfortable beds and spacious room, a lovely hotel, we intend to make this our meeting-up place for the next few years.
What superb hotel. Wonderful welcome, fabulous room, all the facilities were first class, little details that mean so much. Food was delicious. Cannot recommend this hotel high enough. Go there for a couple of days, you will not be disappointed.
Charmingly old English accomodation. Very clean with a truly massive clawfoot tub in the spotless bathroom. Fabulous breakfasts in a truly charming dining room. I regret that dinner was not available the nights I was there.
The rooms were all individually designed and were very spacious. The bathroom had a beautiful, huge, roll-top bath and litte extras like the teddy bears and Penhaligons toiletries made the stay feel very special.

All the staff were very professional and the room was beautiful. I had a young baby with me and the staff went out of their way to help me at every opportunity. The owner was also most helpful.

Really friendly staff and a lovely room with enormous en-suite.
The staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable.
A very warm, friendly, relaxing and overall excellent stay.
The Staff, the quality of the hotel interior and the food.
Everything - fantastic service, breakfast and staff.
Beautiful house quiet location very comfortable room.
Comfortable, friendly, good service and good food.
A great spot from which to visit the Cotswolds!.
Friendly staff
Good food
Comfortable room.
Very welcoming staff! Great breakfast!.
A bit of luxury for a night away.
Right in the village.
Quaintness.
Everything.
The friendly and cooperative owner Ian was a pleasure to meet with..food was good..the place has a warmth...
The room was spacious and comfortable.
The staff were lovely and made you feel very welcome.
The room was good and bed very comfortable.
We got bubble bath and lotion included in the room but couldn't find
shampoo! This may have been us missing it however and it wasn't a
big issue.
Intense traffic continuously all day. Parking a bit problematic, as two hour limit on hotel side of road. Moved to other side during a break in the traffic.
Nothing.
There should have been a reading lamp by the very comfortable sofa so a guest could read there once the natural light was gone (I was in the Wychwood Room).
broken hair dryer
expected free standing bath tub but was not
not fluffy towels (non avoidable?)
four poster beds mattress was bit hard
hair conditioner would be bonus.
The room had been double booked. Instead of ringing to inform me, I was sent a text which did not arrive to my phone. This caused a huge disruption to my holiday. However, I was offered an alternative room and a generous discount to change the date of my booking. The owner was very apologetic.
the hair drier in the bathroom that was nt an issue though.
No car park. No evening dining on the nights we stayed. Our room vibrated sometimes when heavy lorries passed by!.
Traffic noise in our room at the side of the house was a real problem even with windows close.
The room was fabulous, beautifully appointed, but sadly the wooden floor boards are noisy. Whoever was above me woke at 5.30am and it was like a herd of elephants until 8.45am.
Be aware on busy road can be noisy with room at the front.
carpet needed a good hoovering, some 'bits' on the floor.
Hairdryer did not work.
Lots of stairs to climb at the end of the night! All part and parcel of the period property though.
Only three hangers in the wardrobe (and one of those a poor old plastic one). Fortunately we brought some of our own, otherwise we would not have managed.
Car parking difficult, but that is of course the location. I did think it rather expensive however. We are staying in a 4-Star hotel in Central London next week for just another £38 per day.
Meal a little rushed, but not a real problem.
Traffic noise.
No parking!.
No car park.
No bar.
Nothing.
It's right on the main road and traffic through d night made it difficult to sleep sometime...
The room was a little too hot. There is no car park.
No car parking which was a slight problem.
The room was jam packed with nick-nacks and furniture. The sofa was too
close to the tv. The bathroom step was dangerous - especially if you
have to get up in the night. (Most older people do).Our room was on the
ground floor right next to the street and the courtyard - it felt like
we were in a goldfish bowl - we felt on edge and had to keep the
curtains closed making the room dark and claustrophobic.
