When one books a 'Best Western' one normally expects to receive adequate facilities but nothing spectacular. The Mount Sorrel exceeded these expectations and the staff were particularly 'spectacular', for lack of a better expression :). the breakfast is excellent and the staff were very friendly.Good meals in restaurant and bar. the staff where very helpful in all matters about the local area and hotel. The close proximity of the railway station. Friendly staff, fluffy towels and reasonable breakfast.Location and quality of public areas. Nothing.Had to move rooms 3 times. Problems e.g. windows wide open and no heating switched on on freezing night. Changed rooms -no heating and TV not working.3rd room was for smokers so all windows open.Cooked breakfast poor and cold. Waiting staff helpful had to complain to get any other egg option than cold scrambled. Wont be going back.The staff were professional. The view was nice. Heating was not working in bedroom. Although temporary heater was privided which was adequate for bedroom, bathroom was cold. As far as I am aware there is no wifi access. Would have preferred a bigger room -for a double it was small and verylittle room in the bathroom. However we won the munster match and thatwas fantastic!. Not applicable. Bathroom lacked anywhere to put clothes down and decor could be better especially flooring in the said room.TV Channels did not work, No Ac or fans in rooms or passage, Room was very hot. Only on a personal not I found the bed uncomfortable.No Internet Access from the rooms.the only access was dial up from the lounge. The heating did not work in the rooms. The bathroom wasn't great, it wasold and it had a horrible smell.rooms and bar a little dated. Car Parking - Small Car Park and Steep.The bathroom extractor fan in room 42 sounds alike an aircraft jet engine that has some damaged fan blades, I chose to wash etc. in the dark rather than have to listen to it and I understand that even some housemaids prefer to clean some of the bathrooms without lights on!. the room was far too hot and unable to change the temprature. the shower was only a cheap head attached to the taps, which I thought was a bit poor for a 3 star hotel.Breakfasts were poor - tea lukewarm and waitress did not listen to what we ordered. the bed was far to soft. Hotel rooms s somewhat dated and in need of redecoration. room was very basic and old fashioned the bathroom had cracked tiles on the floor, I stay at a lot of hotels and in my opionion this was very poor value for money. The food was also very basic. Rooms had not been cleaned. Our room was a single room with two beds - one up against the wall. Very claustrophobic. There was mould on the metal window frames. No blinds in the bathroom. The pool was out of order. I think, because we were one of the last to arrive, we got the dregs of what was left. The car park is up a steep narrow slope with tight turns and it is very cramped. I am glad we only had to stay for one night.The room was very basic and for the cost expected better. Also the bathroom was very poor. The condition of the rooms. Unfortunately they were very smelly like an old musty smell. The bedding was not very nice either and also smelt.No off street parking, difficult to find room standard poor and not very clean room overlooked someones back garden kettle did not work. Bathroom appeared dirty,decoration was old and tired looking. Some staff were lazy, towels not replaced without asking twice.
