I truly enjoyed my stay at the Scandic Grand Central Hotel. Great location, very clean room and bathroom, very friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast. Staff were very understanding and accommodating as they met my request of having a room on the first floor as I don't take elevators. Fast Wi-Fi connection with very easy access. Walking distance to main attractions and a very pleasant atmosphere all in all. Bravo! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Stockholm on business or leisure.
all reviews » The hotel is located almost in the center, near Central station. 2 minutes walk to Arlando airport express station. In the lobby there is a special place with table to work with laptops, there is also a free access to internet from a common working place - desktop PC. Breakfast is very good, except for constant queue for hot milk (it is available from a single, very slow machine). I stayed in a single room on the second floor. The size was just right, the room was very clean and had anything you need and more, Like wall sockets for USB, HDMI, PC and so on. The design was dark brown with lit blue which worked very well. Very good shower, comfy bed, rich breakfast and very good location just a few minuets walk from grand central station. Plenty of food places near by too. Would stay again. Staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel location is perfect, a few minutes walk from Grand Central but not too close to be noisy. Hotel had a great vibe. As soon as you walk in to the reception area music and conversation greets you - a very happy place! Rooms were clean, well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. WiFi was quick too, good for business users. I am visiting again after Xmas and will 100% book again. I liked the room design, simple and different from other hotels, with some sort of a personal touch; the large windows and the high ceiling of the room, the Face/Stockholm cosmetics in the bathroom, the location (and the quietness despite the central location). However the room I stayed in was big enough for a hotel located in the city center. Great location, near the centre, just in front of the Arlanda Express arrival station. Nothing I did not like. Air conditioning works fine, but there is no way to switch it off completely if someone can't stand its noise (it's quite low though). You may end up waiting for so long for your simple needs or to get your luggage from the waiting room where they keep your luggages. No bathrobes and slippers!. Room was a bit small. The breakfast is good although it was nice to have a wider variety of fruit. Would like to see tables and chairs outside of the hotel...non smoking.... smokers seem to get the best areas allocated, as there is such a great atmosphere outside of the hotel. Our first morning we sat three people on two people´s seats. Breakfast was very crowded and hard to find a table. ( maybe because there was a cruise leaving for the Baltic Sea-which we were on). gym is a bit crampy and TV did not work here. Very crowded during breakfast. Single room on the small side, very little place to undo your luggage. Room too small; lack of wardrobe and storage facilties. At Breakfast time, there were so many guests. but staffs was few. Some quests should carry some messy dishes to other table for making their seat. Most of staff at reception were polite but not friendly at all. Bathroom with a shower in it is so small, so you have to keep a door open. Nothing. loud noise in the lobby in the evenings, quite large amount of rooms and guests. Very tiny room. The internet access has some technical problems. The hotel's ground floor was more like basement floor with windows on the top of the wall. And the rooms were rather chilly. Not what I had expected for the price I was paying. Very expensive drinks. only one thing was - breakfast was very overcrowded. Gym facilities. sauna a bit small. Room is rather small. Limited and not excellent quality of toiletry. No body lotion. The entrance to my room was through a bar which i though was rather silly.. lack of fridge in the room!. Price of car park.
