All very 1970's and a big disappointment - I checked out 2 days early. a bit far from the historic center, metro station is about 10 minutes walk (not too close). Hotel in the city district and in an ugly part of town. However well connected by the metro so easy to get to all parts of the city. I can't fault booking.com or the hotel because the info is accurate.Butknowing Madrid a bit better I would prefer to be more central. There area few bars and restaurants in the hotel area for a quiet night, but Ifound the places to go are the centre of town (like Sol). It was about10 min walk to metro, 5 stops, then change to another metro line,another 3 stops.No big problem but about 40 mins. Food a bit 'ordinary'; service variable. I didn't find the staff very friendly, also the bar was very expensive.Food and drinks were very expensive. no hair drier. poor response to e-mails; size of the room was too small; wierless internet was not avaliable in rooms; IT technical assisstent was not speak English and could not resolve my problem with wired internet. Very old hotel. Small hidden swimming pool ... no bars. Some of the staff were rude, did not know enough English to help. This was very disappointing for a 5 star hotel.
