+ very pleasant and nice place to stay + excellent location - approximately 10 minutes to Gaudi's Casa Mila and Casa Battlo, 15 minutes to Sagrada Familia, 20 minutes to Plaza Catalunya and all the old centre + comfortable transportstion: 10 minutes to big transferring subway station and airport shuttle bus + very clean and sunny rooms with all the necessary stuff + equipped kitchen + friendly and helpful English-speaking personnel + when arrived, the keys from your room, floor and house door .
all reviews » Residencia Nuria is a very warm, charming hostel in a very convenient location. The staff are kind and happy to help with any questions you have. The kitchen is very well equipped and the common rooms have good computers and lounge furniture. This is easily the best budget hostel I've stayed in during my entire stay in Barcelona! The owner Mercedes is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The living room and balcony are among the best facilities I have had in a hostel of this kind. There is a computer (free to use), tvs, comfortable sofas and it's all very clean (you cannot eat there) The people passing by, or students living there are well-travelled people, from the world over. The price per night is unbeatable. Comfortable hostel, everything was fine, classical arrangement.Near subway and shopping.After placing in Barcelona will certainly stay at this hostal. The standard of the accomadation was prefectly acceptable and the rate was exceptional, . The lounge with TV is very useful just to sit and chill , but the biggest plus is the helpful and friendly staff , a big thank you to Rosa, though it does help if you have a bit of spanish vocabulary. The staff is good, the place is clean, quite and the price is very cheap. There is a usefull kitchen where you can cook and a nice living room with two free internet PCs, and a confortable sofà on where speaking with others hostel's guests. It's very nice of the lady staff!!She was very patient to tell me everything about Barcelona and give me a lot of helps as she can! In addition, it seems that this residence is newly-decorated that I felt it was very clean. It was not perfect, but the kitchen was very well equipped. The living and dining room where adorable with the nice balcony. The owner is very serious woman, she will help you with everything. Residencia Nuria are in fact student rooms. They offer just basic service you can expect from such a student house. But it's friendly, well organized and clean. Style of insyde. Kinfly, frendly, like at home. There's also computer to use. Rooms were clean and location was relatively close to centre, about a 15min walk to the centre. I just came back from barcelona last week and i really liked Residencia Nuria place to stay :). Okay location. 2-3 stations away from catalunya and sagrada familia. Lots of showers and wc's. Staff are very helpful and the place is cozy...as if you are staying at you grandma :). The wall of the room is pretty thin, can't stop any noise from lounge room. The pros is its location is the best selling point as it is walking distance to the major shopping street and Metro train station. Well-positioned hostel. Location. It's just cheap. That's all. If you are a budget traveller who is willing to sacrifice comfort for money it would be ok to stay. However barcelona is amazing. Residence owner was a nice person, comparing with the woman who works there. - the kitchen is opened only 9 a.m - 11 p.m. A few of the showers are in disrepair, but usable and clean. Be prepared to spend a little extra for wifi if you don't want to use the computers they provide. The price here is low enough that it isn't a problem, but I'm used to free wifi at other locations. The place has pretty strict rules when it comes to using the kitchen, break-fast table, etc. The showers are iffy. The only thing I disappointed is that the bads in the badroom were more then expected. I booked a bed in 7beds room but they only have 2 big adjoining bedrooms with 30 beds in total. Actually wifi is not provided for free but it is cheap and only cost me 1 euro per night. But luggage storage is really expensive that cost 5 euros after 3pm of the check-out date. There are no curtains on the beds in the mix room and the common space is locked at 11pm, but other than that it was perfect. At the time I was there, there were building works at the back of the residence. That made the environment noisy during daytime. The wifi is not strong enough, and even cost(1ero/day)! The room smells a little. The locker cost also. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. Internet connection didnt work. burning smell in my room some bugs in the corridor(but it's quite common in BCN). Language. not free wi-fi not free luggage safe. Very noisy! You hear everything what's going on in your neighbours' rooms, in corridors, toilets etc. There were no view from the window, not even the daylight could be seen. The water was very cold. clogged drain in the sink,Bad breakfast: 2 slices of bread and coffee, hung to dry things, but they are outweighed, hard to find. Bad computers. Not good employers and they not opening the door easily .. For luggage storage cost for 3 euro each. 24 hours Wifi for 1 euro. Staff who cant really speak English and end up with explaining my questions through Google translate. This is funny. the bathrooms being closed off from the common areas after 11 pm. It costs 1 Euro for Wifi. The Staff do not speak english well. We get a double bed, but i ask for a separeted. thin walls and floors what make you hear all noises at night. a bit far from Ramblas. People smoke on balcony , you can smell it directly in lounge and dinning room. The cons are it is old, run down and dirty. Too little breakfast with no choice. I would prefer it advertising as "no breakfast included" for that price. Location is all right but surely not ideal. Very poor wifi connection. Quite comfy but sparse. Kettle didn't seem to work. Personnel is not quite english-speking. One of them, but she is not there most of time - mainly when you need it. You will have problem if requiring statement of account. On my booking confirmaton for a double room appeared: Room with free wi-fi. On the hostel's homepage you can read: availability of internet in each room included in price. However, I was charged for wi-fi. The only fridge is really small, and the maintenance boy will eat from your food. 1. The walls are really very-very thin, I heard all the noise from neighbours.It was very HARD to fall asleep. 2. My room had a window which faced the very narrow and dirty yard surronded by the walls of the building, so I hardly got any fresh air. Very bad attitude of the woman who works in the residence as she has a theatrical problems in dealing with men (Servant), Moreover the room was without a safe box as they said, and they left me stay till 14:00 till check in in-spite that I've requested an early check-in, finally the bed and room was contains different types of insects.
