We had a wonderful stay at the Cien Hotel and would highly recommend it
to anyone who comes to Barcelona. The location was great... Just two
blocks away from the boutiques and nightlife of Passeig de Gracia - wow!
From the Airbus stop in Plaza Catalunya we had to walk only 5-7 min.
Very convenient indeed. The receptionist was soo friendly and helpful
too. The service was very personalized and attentive during the entire
stay. We learned that the hotel has only 8 rooms, which probably
explains w. all reviews »
We LOVED Cien! The room was very cozy and chic. The shower was huge. The terrace was great. The AC worked wonderfully. The wi-fi signal was super strong. The TV in the room had some english channels, and there were more on later at night. The breakfast was great, and the breakfast area and private terrace was also very nice. It is in an awesome location. There are nice places to shop and eat very close by. There are three bars/restaurants right across the street and it seemed that at least one .
Small guest house style. Only eight rooms. Continental breakfast provided in a nice eating area. You can eat in the small courtyard if you wish.
We loved it. Location close to some attractions such as Gaudi. The two female staff were fabulous, could not do enough for you. We had room 1 which faced the street with a tiny balony with table and chairs which we used to enjoy street scape. Noisy like everywhere but when you shut windows reasonably quiet. There are quieter rooms at back if you wish b.
Everything was perfect, excellent location, new hotel, desing hotel,
very clean, fantastic place! The breakfast is really good,there is
coffee and tea all day so you can drink whenever you like. The girls at
the reception were very friendly and kind,by the way thanks Iria and
Fabiola, I recommend this place to you, it's a lovely hotel. We will
stay here again next time we visite Barcelona!! By the way Barcelona is
a magnificent city!!!.
It's very good location. 3 min to shopping. The hotel is located in the center of city. friendly staff. We came at 9.30 in the morning and our room was ready. Good breakfast. The hotel has nice terrase where you can take breakfast in good weather. Whole day you can take tea, coffee, water and fruits. Realy nice hotel.

Cosy small hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and attentive to us. Breakfast was good, it was enough for us. Room and living room were clean. Towels were changed every day, room was cleaned every day. Toiletries were present in the room.

All you need for a few days trip to Barcelona.
The room was very comfortable with a lovely little outside area. There was a nice breakfast selection in the morning and through the day you could help yourself to refreshments. The location was good for The Ramblas and the central square, also close to the metro.

It is a cozy hotel in Barcelona's city center. The design is great, the staff is friendly and I felt really welcomed. If you are looking for a small cozy hotel, this is absolutely the one.
Had a wonderful stay in Cien hotel. Iria and Fabiola were wonderful hosts, and couldn't do enough for us. The atmosphere was really relaxed, the hotel is so central and such good value.

The employees are really friendly. It includes breakfast, which is rare in Europe. I'd like to point out that it feels like a hostel. A clean hostel. But still a hostel. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good value for the money. It's clean and nice.

No closet or dresser to store our clothes in. We had to buzz in downstairs and they didn't always buzz you in right away. There were a couple instances where we had to buzz more than once. We stayed in a similar B&B earlier on in our trip that gave us a code to the entrance of the building and if Cien did that, they would pretty much be a perfect 10.
Just to be aware there are about 8 steps up a wide staircase to reach lift to access guest house if you have physical issues, although we noticed a chair lift is available for those few stairs.
Plates for muesli weren't washed well and leftovers from corn flakes were on the plates. I've asked to give us clean one and they washed plates.

rooms on the street side are noisy, we had to use earplugs the hotel gave us. You can hear the doorbell, every room door open, etc....not a lot of sound proofing. No drawers or closets in the room.
Breakfast is limited and can be mostly finished if you wake up after 9. Not so important.
You could say that the breakfast is limited, but it is certainly enough. I loved the room in which the breakfast was served. :-).

The price is a bit steep for a hostel type place.
There are 2 things that could be improved: diversity, quality and services during breakfast and the cleanliness. Some of the towels had some spots and it was visible they were quite reused.
The bathroom was large but basic. A bit more room for storing your toiletries would have been useful. Maybe a little extra shelf?.
Sometimes staff were a little hard to find. TV volume fixed at 20% as walls were thin, but no option to decrease the volume further either!.
The bathroom was wide but it had a problem with ditch. Water was over-flown when I was taking shower.
The breakfast was really poor, nothing gluten free, no fruits or vegetables. No natural juice.

Superior double rooms located in front of the hotel are very noisy (street noise and reception noise). Also no fridge or coffee facilities in room. Overall Cien hotel is more like a 5-star hostel than a hotel. Provided this is expected upon arrival, clients are likely to be satisfied with the accommodation.
