Good host who provided useful local information on nearby pubs and cafes. Very close to Central station and tram routes. Flat well sourced with tea/coffee and travel guides/maps. Luckily we were on first floor - good tip to ask for this flat. Able to leave bags in cycle shop next door which was also run by our host. Very good value for centre of city. Great location, very easy to find, very central-just off Dam square and a 5 minute walk from central station. Staff very friendly and very helpful, carried our luggage upstairs. Sorted problem with tv immediately. Happy to store luggage for you before you book in and after you book out. Standard is similar to that of a good youth hostel in the uk.

I you like to stay at Amsterdam downtown, this place is a nice one to be. The bedbug I saw between the bedsheets as I prepared to depart; didn't really think much of it until the next day when I scratched my ankle and found a string of 7 (seven) fluid-filled and infected blisters raised over 15mm high. A little unpleasant, and making me think whether I got any value at all from my stay. - Wayne McDuffy. Everything about the accommodation was poor. Bedding smelt and was not ironed. Freezer iced up, bathroom facilities very poor. Main bedroom door which leads onto hallway had large gaps where you could see the light in the hallway, if there was to be a fire we would have had no chance in getting out alive. I am requesting refund of at least 130 euros as the accommodation is well overpriced. The room was small with small uncomfortable beds, and small shower area. Only one small towel p/person and one very small soap. No shampoo or other minor essentials.only tiny window with no view except of another rooftop.. This was hostel accomodation with Hotel prices.
