- Location was wonderful, it was only 10 mins walk to the Albert Cupt Markets one way, and Leidesplein and Museumplein the other way. - My room was awesome, just the standard option, but even so had great decor, a coffee machine and a cool blue neon light under the bed. - Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices - staff were very nice too, I arrived earlier than normal check in, but they let me go into a room to change after a long flight.

- only issue was that there was no elevator and the stairs were very steep/windy this however was to be expected being a canal house. They did say they are planning on installing one though.

The staff there had the best service I've ever had in any city, especially Ervin, he was more than helpful. Me and my girlfriend loved the breakfast in the mornings and the free mini bar was great. The internet was super fast and the jacuzzi tub was a welcoming surprise. At first I thought the room was a bit small but after 5 minutes I got used to it and it was extremely cozy and nice. Though it isn't in the center of the city, everything was accessible with tram stations right outside the hotel or a quick 5-10 minute walk in any direction to restaurants, bars, or shops. To compliment the staff again, they were extremely helpful by recommending us where to go and what to do around the city. I would definitely recommend people to stay at this hotel and we'll be sure to come back to this hotel the next time we're in Amsterdam!

Fantastic hotel in a wonderful neighbourhood. We stayed in a canal view room with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Brilliant staff, excellent breakfast - overall a great experience.

Smart clean hotel with good staff and very good breakfasts. Within walking distance of most places of interest but away from the noise of the centre. Near tram lines for easy access.

Beautiful, clean, small room overlooking a canal. Great breakfast; comfortable bed; helpful staff; free wifi; heat worked great in the room.

No elevator and hotel had narrow, winding staircase. This wasn't a problem for us but could be for some travelers.

Lovely Hotel, literally 15 minutes walk from Dam Square. In an amazing local neighbourhood of amsterdam. Free Minibar, Free WiFi, iPod dock in the room. The bath in the room was also a jacuzzi

The bed was great, the bathroom, the espressomachine, the canal view from our room, the logitech headspeakers at the alarm clock, the young man at the reception was nice, the safety , the breakfast. Yes pretty much the most. I would love this hotel if the location was closer to centre. I like getting around by foot but this one needed a tram.

It is not in the centre of Amsterdam, but there are lots of trams right outside

Rooms are nice and comfy, with water kettle and nespresso maschine in the room. Bath tube was jetted, really nice after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast was fresh, good and efficient with view over the canal. Great location, found parking in front of the hotel on the side of the street for 35 euro/ 24 hrs. Close ( 10 min) walk to Heineken experience and the museums, and Hard Rock Cafe! We really appreciated the staff with handing us a map and trying to navigate certain sights! Perfect stay, we will stay there again if we ever go back to Amsterdam!

attentive and smiling staff, new renovated facilities, canal view from the room is simply amazing, extremely comfortable bed, complimentary mini bar, suprisingly good breakfast, location and connections (very close to taxi stand and tram stop, good restaurants/cafes/bars nearby)

bathroom was very nice but water pressure in the shower (3rd floor) was very poor, bar not open yet

Did enjoy the wonderful breakfast included, the very comfortable Hastens beds, the rooms facing the canal( be sure to order canal side) or it can be noisy with the tram passing. Room 24 has a nice balcony! The staff were accommodating and pleasant.

Did not like the cold design of the entrance front desk, and the very steep winding staircase without a lift could be very difficult for older guests. The oddest thing to pay the room total before checking in( first ever in all my travels to Europe and elsewhere),

No bedside tables and only one chair. Bed was far too large for the room size and I felt it was over priced based on my previous hotel experiences in Amsterdam. Room was very hot and A/C didn't seem to work properly.

Loved the staff and small boutique style of hotel. Could only get a standard room since they were booked for all others, but it and the bathroom was rather large & with tall ceilings. Their complimentary breakfast was unbelievable and service was excellent. Love the location on the canal and in a quiet neighborhood, but not too far from the hustle of the Dam area.

Their maid service was not too good. Though their amenities were high end, they did not replenish during our 3 night stay. Their towels were also very cheap and thin.

Tucked in a corner overlooking the Lijnbaansgracht canal The Amsterdam Canal Hotel's forte is their intelligent, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and the breakfast is a true masterpiece, especially if you decide to order something from the kitchen. The high quality of the coffee is worth a mention (you can use their machine or request any manner of hand made coffee drink). Location is perfect: a short walk to the Museumplein, a longer walk to the city center (which means a quiet and safe area to rest between adventures) and easy access to public transportation. Be aware, there is no lift and there are 68 steps to the third floor on a winding, narrow and steep staircase, which, of course, is part of the charm if you're up to it. Choose a room on the 1st or 2nd floor with canal view and balcony for the most comfort and space.

One thing to be aware of is that there is no air conditioning, so the summer months could be a challenge. We arrived on a very warm day in September and the temperature in our room on the top floor was 28.5 C at 10:30 p.m.. The person working the front desk did find a fan for us which provided some relief, and the remaining days were somewhat cooler, negating this problem. I can only imagine what late July and August would be like.

- Color of flooring notice already scuff marks - in wardrobe the floor is already marked - solution put a piece of some hard material to prevent marks - need elevator for top floor since we keep getting older - 70 & 78 - however the nice gentleman at reception, was very helpful getting our luggage to the room - thank you

Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was great, with a great view over a canal, excellent croissants, fresh bread, and a truly magnificent fruit salad. Room was ample and well organized. The hotel is conveniently located close to several team lines which make it easy to go anywhere you want in the city.

The room I rented was in the basement, and was a bit noisy due to the proximity of the street. Also, it was hot in the room and there was no air conditioning in this room. However, the staff's niceness and fantastic breakfast more than compensated for these issues.

The staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived throughout our three night stay. The breakfast was also varied and delicious - we looked forward to it each day! Our room was quite small but very clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed apart from an iron and ironing board, which they were able to provide at reception. We would definitely come back and stay, but maybe get a room at the back of the hotel with a canal view which would probably be a bit quieter.

The only downside was that the room was very warm and the air conditioning machine provided was extremely loud without being particularly effective. Our room also overlooked the street which was quite busy and you could hear traffic, especially the trams, throughout the night. This didn't particularly bother us as we live on a main road anyway, but could be a problem for people who like a quiet night.

We loved everything from the excellent breakfast with any type of eggs to order and homemade miniature cakes all beautifully presented, to the lovely extremely comfortable bed, ultra modern bathroom and such helpful friendly staff. The de pijp area nearby had loads of brill restaurants and its so close to museums and transport if you to go further afield.

The staff at the Canal Hotel were friendly, helpful, and responsive. The room was beautiful and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was unbelievable! We had a canal view, and it was a beautiful view to wake up to each day.

The only things we would say were the slightest negative points were the hotel noise that could be heard in the room, as well as the layout of the room. The glass separating the bathroom from the rest of the room require a certain amount of intimacy between those sharing a room!

Extremely friendly staff from the point of entry to point of exit with welcome pack and advice when required! Breakfast was fresh and individualised which was far far than five star Hotels we have stayed in recently! It was a most enjoyable and relaxed stay for five days! Highly recommend this Boutique Hotel for the staff friendliness alone!

The rooms were very clean and the hotel was in a lovely position and it was a lovely experience to take breakfast overlooking the canal. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I was travelling with my elderly mother and I didn't realise the hotel has no lift. Also, it was a bit of a heatwave when we stayed, I think this was unusual, and the air conditioning wasn't effective. Something to be aware of depending on your travelling companion.

This is a small hotel at a quiet street not far from the city-center of Amsterdam. Rooms are small but comfortable and style with good canal view through fanny windows. There were: free mini-bar with cold drinks, coffee machine, dock station for iPod in our room. The breakfast wasn't perfect but still quiet good. Also in good weather you can eat your breakfast on the hotel terrace right on the canal. There is the city parking places in front of the hotel entrance. I think that the parking is a little bit expensive - 36 € per 24 hours. But in any case that doesn't depend on the hotel. The personal is very kind and always willing to help you. We have spend two perfect nights in this hotel and in future we are going to stay only here.

Lack of air conditioning in very hot weather. Hotel was immaculatey clean but the area was scruffy and Amsterdam was a huge disappointment compared to previous visit years ago- but this wasn`t Hotel`s fault obviously.

We had a room in the subterrain and it was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We really loved the breakfast and being able to sit by the canal.

A newly refurbished hotel in a traditional house right on a canal close to restaurants, shops,museums, galleries etc.Staff friendly and helpful (an under statement really),breakfast fabulous and extensive-eat on canal side terrace in fine weather,Room-large for Holland.Wonderful beds! Stylishly decorated-ours had a huge window overlooking canal.My birthday and even a bottle of good wine was presented.We loved it in every way and would return.

Tip-Dutch houses are narrow with steep stairs-no problem for us-we were on a low floor-but if it matters to you discuss this with the hotel first.

The Amsterdam Canal Hotel is an oasis of tranquility and luxury in the midst of a vibrant and busy city. The facilities are outstanding and the rooms, though some are small, are exceptionally well furnished and comfortable. It is located near the museum district and we could walk to the major museums as well as nice local restaurants. The staff was amazing, being professional as well as competent and very helpful and friendly. Our long weekend stay was exceptional from the freshly baked croissants, fresh fruit, and eggs to order at the superb breakfast to the quiet glass of wine at the end of the day on the private patio overlooking the canal. We would return in a heartbeat.

The Amsterdam Canal Hotel was a fantastic find. Their deluxe canal view room was breathtaking. To be fair, the hotel is not in the city center, but it is a short walk to anything and everything you want to do in Amsterdam. The huge upside to the location is that the neighborhood is nice and quiet at night... far from the mayhem of the Red Light District.
