What people say
I particularly liked the free wifi service. As a traveller, it was handy to ahve this in the privacy of a hotel room, rather than at an internet cafe. I also appreciated the fact that an inexpensive service such as internet access was not charged to my bill. Free Wireless Internet and free breakfast. The security box in the room was large enough to fit a 17 inch laptop plus much more.all reviews »
Great modern rooms and lobby, great fireplace, awesome breakfast! And all at a very good price! Will definately stay again!. Location. Close to market and tram. Free drink with room. Very nice lobby.Comfortable room with good breakfast and good location. staff very helpful and willing to help with inquiries about Amsterdam. staff. Great quiet location, tram connection to centre right in front of thehotel (5-10 min ride), taxi stand right around the corner, verystylish and cool design in public areas and rooms, extremely cosylounge with fireplace, iMacs in lounge for hotel guests, free internetaccess in lounge and rooms, young, friendly and very professionalstaff, good breakfast. A kind of reasable funky hotel, with helpful friendly staff that is well located between the Rai and the city centre. The number 4 tram brings you to the Rai from the hotel and the city centre is an straight foward 20 min walk. breakfast was wonderful, hotel was clean but it was smelling bad (maybe there had been a renovation), close to the central, the room was too small (but they warned us), as a result it was really a comfartable stay in Amsterdam.Stylish and comfortable hotel in a good area - very easy walking distance to everything you wish to see in Amsterdam. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. Though it was tiny single room, the atmosphire of the hotel was quite nice! And it is not city central but it places in convinient place availabel for two tram lines.Very helpful staff!!! Wonderfully decorated. Free computers. Excellent stay!. Bathroom was lovely - small but very modern and clean. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was great. The location was fantastic--we could get anywhere from the hotel. Very helpful friendly staff. Everything I needed was there. Rooms well designed to make use of space.bed was very comfortable hotel staff friendly just outside tram stop very easy to get around amsterdam. Hotel staff is really friendly and service oriented. The hotel is well designed and nice.Free internet in the rooms, good breakfast, nice fireplace at the lobby. Friendly staff. Clean room. The shower is great!. hotel was in a good location within the canal area, away from the crowds but still easy walking distance to the center. Great restaurant across the street....Cafe Kale. great breakfast, and great beds!. great staff and location. Staff really good. Excellent bed!. The hotel is very new, modern, with friendly staff. Very well located near the city of Amsterdam. Although the rooms are very small, it definitely service as a good hotel to spend a weekend in Amsterdam. Very good position ,helpful staff ,good breakfast ,nice decor , I would tay there again without hesitation .Good location, very nice lobby and excellent breakfast. Staff was also friendly and helpful. well located, nice staff, nice design. Good location. Clean and tidy room. Friendly staff. Wireless internet. Nice breakfast included. Good location, excellent interior decoration, friendly staff, good breakfast.Breakfast is excellent and location is rather good. Good location, accessibility to public transport. Very comfortable beds and friendly staff. breakfast, pillows, deco. It was very clean. The position was good for sightseeing. The breakfast was good. The flatscreen TV had lots of channels and the bed was very comfortable. Style, decor, friendy staff and location. Room was cleaned each day (contrary to other hotels, according to reviews). Free WiFI. Breakfast included. The staffs are really friendly. The lobby is well decorated. The location is good. The breakfast is good.Service, Lobby. Free internet. The style. Nice lobby, beautiful colours. Good location.Room was very small but modern and nicely decorated. Room was rather small but big enough for two young travellers, soundproofing in rooms is not too good (old building but fullyrenovated) but other guests were very quiet so that really wasn't aproblem. If you have a room in the basement, watch your step going into your room. There is a step. We were placed in the annex; there was no lift and the stairs were steep and long to negotiate with suitcases and no attendant to assist. The rooms were extremely small for the price.Liked most things, a bit nosey but it's a well located City hotel. a bit cold only one heater for the room not a problem tho the quilt was very cosy. Too close from the tramway. Was impossible to sleep the first night. Hopefuly the hotel staff gave me another room for the rest of my stay. Then it was OK. Furthermore the breakfast is served from 7.30 only. Too late when you are on a business trip. My room was very cold, I asked for a portable heater or something to heat up the room but they did not have any, there was no solution to the problem.Bed too soft. Room was small without a desk. While check in starts at 2 pm, room was not ready by 3 pm.room too small- design does not function- no place to put suitcase, no place to put cosmetic bag - being so sheik and not having a decent place for their hair dryer or towels? no elevator and dangerous steps- especially with luggage-. small rooms. The room was too small for the price. The rooms are rather small but that in itself wasn't a problem. However, there was no desk in the room so we had to scatter our things on the floor. Also the bathroom was lacking space for toiletries. Very nice shower, though!. rooms too small. Room was quite small and not very practical. Style won out over practicality. (Small desk, nowhere to keep items in bathroom, extremely small "wardrobe"). Small bathrooms. Rooms could be bigger. With small luggage it is livable.Room is quite small. Ok for a short stay, but for a longer stay, and if you have a lot of luggage, it will be a tight squeeze. Bed, and en-suite were fine though. Was a little noisey and the breakfast was very basic.noise from outside (trams, people, etc), bed kept separating from the other twin bed, room very small. The room was at the top of the hotel under the gables. It was very small with a portable wardrobe that we had to move around the room in order to get past each other. Although the shower in the bathroom was good the bathroom was very dark and the mirror on the wall far too low for comfort. I'm sure we would recommend this hotel if we had had a bigger room. There was not always hot water in the shower. The single room booked was extremely small, in the basement with only a very small window high up overlooking the bottom of some stairs. The doube room was also small but good but but the single room was very unpleasant due to the above. Two things: 1. I disliked the "new age" ambience. The staff are dressed like there off the set of a Star Trek episode. There is constant non-descript, pulsating, pseudo-jazzy music played in the lobby. Ugh! Not my style. 2. No chance to get a cup of coffee before 7:30 a.m.I have been waiting for the room to be clean up n allow me to check in until 3pm. I have booked a "large double bedroom" cos from the reviews i kinda know that the rooms are small. In fact, the "large double bedroom" is not big at all. After we got our luggage into the room, we could hardly walk. And they just put a stool there as the bedside table. And the safe is on the floor... The room is too small. lake of facilities. Rooms are small! A queen-size bed occupies a dark room. There is nochair, no desk, no side-table. Only one small stool for two person. I donot recommend for long stay. (One night stay might be ok.). Poor facilities and hotel staff. Bad service, quite low standard breakfast and extremly cold bathrooms with no possibility to heat them up. we were travelling early in the morning, and could not recieve the slightest bit of breakfast, although we asked very polite.

Hotel information details
Hotel V frederiksplein is built in four 18th-century monumental apartment buildings.
As you enter the large but cosy lobby, you will be impressed by the open space and design. The beautiful wooden bar/kitchen that serves as a breakfast restaurant in the morning will certainly catch your eye. In the afternoon and evening, this breakfast bar turns into a nice place to have a V drink or a V bite.
You can't miss the cosy lounge with the smooth couch and stunning fireplace. This is the perfect place to recharge after a day in Amsterdam; listening to the funky soulful music and sipping a drink, reading or checking your mail. Guests are also welcome to make use of our Apple computers in the lobby for free.
The rubber reception desk and the dark glassed meeting room are both equally impressive, just as the cow hide wallpaper and the cork floor. In the summer, the lobby feels like an inside terrace. Guests can also sit outside in the small and sheltered garden.
