  Our 2 night stay in Langahlid (number 3) was by far the highlight of our 2 week honeymoon in Iceland. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer here! The houses are superbly equipped from coffee machine to hot tub to gas bbq and impeccably clean (I couldn’t believe our house was built in 2006). Accommodation in Iceland can be expensive but I’d... what people say » challenge anyone to find better value accommodation (given the views, location and house spec) on the planet. We enjoyed a lovely coffee and chocolat - Everything! A wonderful place in a beautiful spot. It was comfortable, and obviously built with great care and attention to detail. Also, a great price, we feel like we got more than we paid for. There is a great hike if you follow the gravel road up the hill behind the cabin that goes up and over a series of waterfalls, and I think eventually up to a lake, but we started too late and were running out of daylight after we got up past the third waterfall. The hot tub was great, such a nice view,

  Location, location, location!! At the entrance to a spectacular fjord, scenery and wildlife abound. The cooked dinners were excellent, showcasing great home cooking of produce grown onsite, or at least, caught in the neighbourhood. For us, the seclusion was perfect - 4WD access only, or a 4km walk from the carpark. Walkers will enjoy the journ... what people say » ey to the lodge. - Skalanes is a unique experience, an idyllic farm 16 km from the last village, at the entrance of the fjord, with fantastic birdlife and much more. Ole the owner and manager together with the volunteers run it in a very relaxed and friendly way.
