Our 2 night stay in Langahlid (number 3) was by far the highlight of our 2 week honeymoon in Iceland. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer here! The houses are superbly equipped from coffee machine to hot tub to gas bbq and impeccably clean (I couldn’t believe our house was built in 2006). Accommodation in Iceland can be expensive but I’d challenge anyone to find better value accommodation (given the views, location and house spec) on the planet. We enjoyed a lovely coffee and chocolat.
all reviews » Everything! A wonderful place in a beautiful spot. It was comfortable, and obviously built with great care and attention to detail. Also, a great price, we feel like we got more than we paid for. There is a great hike if you follow the gravel road up the hill behind the cabin that goes up and over a series of waterfalls, and I think eventually up to a lake, but we started too late and were running out of daylight after we got up past the third waterfall. The hot tub was great, such a nice view,. Cannot talk more highly of this beautiful cottage. Gorgeous views, house was clean and fresh, kitchen has everything you need with little extras like coffee, paper towel, oil etc. The spa was clean and the owner had it on and ready for our arrival. Very attentitive host. We had a snow storm while staying there and he came to check we were okay and made sure the path to our car was clear of snow. Its like our private mountain retreat, being treated with numerous flowing waterfalls from the hills behind us, and snow capped mountain across the fjord. The house is so warm and comfortable with modern amenities e.g. Message shower cubicle, outdoor jacuzzi, Gas BBQ. The owner is very responsive, was waiting for our arrival it seems. Wish we stayed here a little longer. Absolute heaven!!! The best stay in Iceland. The place has a magical feeling to it with the views, the setting, the play of light... Everything! The hot tub is brilliant and the host is awesome. The cottage is beautifully furnished in a quaint charming way. The equipment provided is so well thought out and quite useful. We would strongly recommend to everyone !!. I liked everything about this piece of heaven: the confort inside and the view outside. It is one km from the village and has a beautiful view over the fjord. Inside there is everything (and more) you may need, from the tea bags to the coffee filters, nice towels, confortabile couch where to relax alter the hot tub . I really recommend it. The place was spotlessly clean, beds are very comfy and we appreciated the high-tech shower! Views are superb as you wake up to mountain and fjord views. Service was excellent as the owner had looked out for us on the night of our arrival as we were delayed by strong winds and snow. Beautiful cottage with fantastic view over the fjord, wooden terrace with grill, massage hot tub and a dining table. Very well equipped, there are even some souces in the kitchen. So sad we were staying only 1 night. Definitely will come there again an stay longer. This is simply the most amazing place we've ever stayed. The beauty and privacy of the location would be enough on their own but the facilities themselves are fabulous. Perfectly equipped kitchen (contains tea, coffe and spices), nice hot tub and amazing countryside atmosphere! Absolutely 10/10!. Everything was just perfect !
