This Seydisfjordur hostel is situated in the eastern fjords of Iceland, 25 minutes’ drive from Egilsstadir Airport. It offers free Wi-Fi, a garden, as well as free use of bicycles. Each simply furnished room at Post-Hostel provides views over the fjords and access to shared bathroom facilities. A communal, fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, electric cooker and dishwasher is available. Post-Hostel also has a laundry room with ironing equipment which guests can use for free. Hagavollur Golf Club is just a 2-minute walk from the hostel. Seydisfjordur Information Centre, along with an indoor swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, are all 5 minutes away by foot. The Skaftfell Cultural Centre and Technical Museum is 200 metres away.

It doesn't look much from the outside but actually it was a nice little place. The room was small but comfortable and clean with a desk, a comfy single bed a wardrobe etc. Really good, well equipped kitchen and really nice shower/bathroom. The wifi worked fine for me, although the lady in the next room had problems. I would stay there again. The town is really sweet little place with lots of lovely well marked out hiking trails in the area and a nice feel about it, though a bit pricey, above th.
all reviews » By mistake we have ordered a room for 1 person while being together with my 11y old son. The second set of linen etc was arranged in 5 mins. The shared kitchen has full set of equipment including pots, frying pans etc. Besides you can buy some food right in the hostel. There are two WCs. This guesthouse was really very clean and well organized and had very comfy beds. It was great that there was a kitchen that could be used, a washer/dryer and several bathrooms. The location was also right in town and convenient to everything. Apparently the owner has 2 buildings - the old Post Office and a newer one, also on the main street. We were allocated a room in the new-build. Facilities here were wonderful - great lounge areas, kitchen and bathroom. the hostel is very good, in a lovely fiord. the kitchen has everything for cooking (well equiped). there are 2 bathroom (with shower) and 1 toilet, no problem for using the shower or toilet. Very good quality price. Rooms very clean, nice room view .Shared bathrooms very clean and comfortable.Nice place to explore the area and the wildlife. The host was so friendly, so welcoming making the place feel like home. She also helped me with some great advice. The guest house owner was very nice and helped out with a difficult situation (in the middle of the night!). Well located in the town and a nice place to stay. I only had an overnight stop here. If you are looking for a cheap-for-Iceland hostel next to the Faroes- Denmark ferry post but unpolluted by noise this is good. There are two parts, the hostel and the "other house", the brand new first floor of the owners home. It was beautiful and modern quiet. Definitely stay there. Watch the hills on the way to town. Kitchen was well equipped. The ONE bathroom was modern and clean. Little bit on the outskirts of town but Seydisfjordur is very small, so not exactly a long trek to get anywhere!!!!. Other travelers unfortunately were not very considerate, which is not at all the fault of the guesthouse. When we were there, I think there were a lot of young backpacker types so in the morning, there was a lot of door slamming which was not so great for sleeping. Otherwise, the guesthouse was great!. Room was a little small if you have a lot of luggage. Small rooms. The phone to call the owner wasn't working, I ended up connecting to the wi-fi and using skype on my phone, but that isn't an option for everyone. Laundry machine takes a long time to run, hope there aren't multiple people waiting to use it. None! :-). the hostel was open when we arrived with nobody there, so my first 5 minutes there were a bit spooky, but dont worry there is a sign to call **2 for someone to come :). If you want a charming small hotel with eccentricities and ever-present owners, it is not. The hostel building was crowded with families in for the arts festival. I was pleased not to be staying there. Staff not available. Sharing bathroom with too many other guests. No ambiance whatsoever. every part is blew the average.
