  We were a family group: Grandpa, Grandma, Daughter, grandsons ages 11, 12. We needed affordable lodging near shopping and public transportation. Downtown Reykjavik Apartments (dra) met and exceeded our requirements. The dra is just 2 blocks from one of the main bus stations in Reykjavik. From that point, one can travel anywhere in the City. The main shopping/walking street begins at the bus station and extends a number - We booked the smallest and cheapest available room (the double studio). When we arrived, finding our keys and room was very easy. The room was small but very clean - the bedding smelt very fresh. We also saw a family studio which was bigger and again very clean and pleasant. I asked to upgrade our room as I wanted a bit more space (the prices are very reasonable and I was happy to pay more). However when the owner and Thora heard it was the last leg of our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a 3 bed

  First of all, Friðjòn, the manager, is super nice and attentive, real pleasure to deal with. The apartment is new and clean, tastefully decorated. The kitchen has everything you need (pots and pans, utensils etc). The balcony is spacious and the view from the bedroom is right to the harbor. The apartment is located just 2 min away from the old... what people say » city's square Ingólfstorg. There are plenty of restaurants around and everything is a short walking distance. - The hotel manager Fridjon was excellent, really helpful and nice. The apartment is immaculate and equipped with everything you could want. The location is brilliant - just overlooking the harbour, only 2 minutes walk from the Reykjavik town square (which also means it's a lot quieter at 5am when everyone is coming out of pubs/clubs!)
