The hotel staff was very, very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were enormous and everything in them was well planned: the shower was nice and big (no bathtub in my room which makes no difference to me), there was a really neat extendible mirror which made it really easy to shave, etc, etc,. Location near Checkpoint Charlie. Extremely friendly, professional, helpfull staff that love their job. Perfect. Spotless spaceous room. Daily updates on breakfast table, in elevator and TV channel on weather forecast, things to do etc. Free storage of suitcase after check-out.
all reviews » We made a request for a quiet room and that is what we got, it was spacious with a settee, arm chairs and central console with swivel TV , shallow balcony overlooking the courtyard. very well positioned next to Stadmitte tube, plus easy walking distance to many attractions. Proximity to points of interest, food was great, beds were fantastic,everything was new and very clean. Staff is friendly and polite. You can communicate in english everywhere without any problems. Definitely a hotel I would go back to. I highly recommend it.The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My German is very basic but they all spoke nigh on perfect English. The food and drink prices were very reasonable also. Everything. The room was large and quiet as requested and the location was good - not too far from good cafes and resturants and the "Metro". The toilet was separate from the main bathroom and there were no tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom although this was not an issue really. no free wifi in rooms. No, I loved the hotel. breakfast is too expensive, wireless internet connection to the rooms is unusable never make it to work, and they only have one computer for internet access which at least is for free and also free wireless connection in the reception area is given. Other than that is perfect experience staying in Mercure Hotel and Residenz Berlin Checkpoint Charlie. I would definitely recommend it.I guess I wish they had one more Internet PC for use. Not bath, prix of breakfast too expensive.tea making facilities absent.Breakfast to expensive,my wife eats very little.soft drinks far to dear. tea/coffee making facilities would be a bonus. internet is too expensive. only point of criticism: I had my room towards the back yard, and very noisy deliveries often began at 7am.price of breakfast.
