We loved everything about the Alitania apartments, the apt was just like home, bright, extremely clean beautifully furnished. The location is superb. It was our 3rd time in Berlin in 2 years but our first staying in an apartment. Mela the manager had the apt equipped for us and even had a present for my son, she is a lovely lady. We are planning on returning and staying there again next year.
all reviews » The apartment was very clean and central and had excelent facilities. There is a shopping centre 20 meters from the front door that has 2 supermarkets in the basement. There must be at least 30 restuarants witin walking distance as well as the sony centre. There is also a Starbucks in the same block. The staff were very heplful. Especially Mela Ikanovic.It was nice having all the space to spread out in for the length of our stay. Also, when my husband's computer wouldn't connect to their wireless network they tried their best to fix the problem. When that didn't work they lent us their computer. The location was excellent. The apartment was very quiet, impeccably clean, well-equipped and well-maintained. Mela, the manageress, was extremely friendly and welcoming and saw to our every need.Best location. Convenient for food, transportation, theater, metro, shopping, and tourist sites. Management staff was very accomodating. We'll be sure to stay at this apartment again. Excellent location, great welcome by the apartment managers. Clean,bright, centrally located apartment. A great deal!. Location was exellent and the room was better than we expected. Very central. Ideal for sight seeing.Personal touch was very nice. the feel of being at home great location.This is where you need to stay if you want to be in the center of all of Berlin you have shopping,theater,and u-bahn and s-bahn right outside your door will stay there agaian when I vist Berlin again.Superb location as everything is so close: U-Bahn; S-Bahn; Arkaden Shopping Centre and main tourist attractions in Berlin. We walked to the majority of the tourist sites and plenty of restaurants nearby. It was very central and as it wasn't a hotel it was nice not having to pass reception every day. Very relaxed and pleasant stay.Extremely clean, spacious, and well-appointed apartment (it's not a hotel). The location was great. Everything you need is in the surrounding area. It was wonderful, very comfortable suite. The equipment and furnishings, the location, the balcony, the space, the decor. Location excellent. No -- everything was perfect.Please stick something onto the large glass panel in the entrance hall bringing light from the dining area, so that guests do not inadvertently walk into it. I did just that, turning from the mirror in the hall, and hitting my head. I have heard of cases like this where people are seriously injured. Many stores and offices stick stripes onto their glass doors and panels for this reason. It was not easy to locate the property on arrival.

Information about the area

Potsdamer Platz has its own atmosphere - a mixture of modern architecture, metropolitan living and Berlin history. You won’t struggle for entertainment here, what with the area’s wide choice of shops, restaurants, theatres, cinemas, casinos and nightclubs - all within a short walk.

There are many specialist restaurants just round the corner in the huge shopping centre, Arkaden, or you could try the variety of restaurants in the near vicinity such as the Kaisersaal in the renowned Sony Centre.

The fastest elevator in Europe belongs to the observation platform at Potsdamer Platz. In just 20 seconds you can travel over a hundred meters up to its lofty heights and enjoy panoramic views over the whole of Berlin.

Travelling information

It takes 25 minutes in a taxi to reach the apartments from Tegel Airport.
If using public transport it should take around 45 minutes: take the X9 bus to Zoologischer Garten and from there take the U2 line of the U-Bahn (underground) towards Pankow and exit at Potsdamer Platz.

From Schönefeld Airport it takes 45 minutes to reach the apartments by taxi.
It takes about the same amount of time with public transport: take the airport express train from Schönefeld to Alexanderplatz. From there take the U2 line of the U-Bahn (underground) towards Ruhleben and exit at Potsdamer Platz.

From Hauptbahnhof (the main train station in Berlin), it should take around 10 minutes in a taxi or 10 minutes on the M41 bus in the direction of Sonnenallee/ Baumschulenstrasse.
