  This is the second time that we have had the pleasure of staying at the Chateau de l'Abbaye. The Renard family was as welcoming and gracious as ever; showing us to our room, pointing out the features of the room, offering to carry our suitcase. This time we stayed in the room called Marguerite, in the main house. Since we were last there, a private spa has - The superb level of service of the owners,the comfort and quality of the bedrooms and the air condoning during the heat wave conditions during of visit. The set menu evening dinners were by far the best we had on our three week visit to France Our original booking was two days, we extended to three then continued our journey. We returned three days later as we could not find any other hotel that offered the ambience and quality of service as Le Chateau de L'Abbaye. We will be returning on our n

  Its a haven of peace and tranquillity set in woodland yet within 100 metres or so of a splendid beach. The facilities are very smart and the food is exceptional with the freshest of fish and a wine list of well known wines as well as a very good selection from the Loire and Vendee. The staff throughout were brilliant and easily handled my limited... what people say » language and all our queries. - The peace and quiet, plus the comfort of the room. And they accept a dog, with the benefit of excellent walking facilities for the dog (and us!) right outside the door. Would definitely go again.
