We received an excellent welcome from the owner who supplied us with full information about the area which we wouldn't have got from a travel book.
The chateau has been restored into a contemporary hotel with excellent fittings and wi fi. Our suite was very large, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is about an 8 minute drive from Carcassonne. It is worth visiting the Canal du Midi at Trebes and the picturesque Legrasse.

This small private guest house was very comfortable and well placed a short stroll from the main attractions. The on street parking was ok as it's on a quiet side street. Myriam served us an excellent breakfast in the garden.
The guest's roof terrace offers great views across to the old Cite. There are hundreds of places to eat in the evening we found the Jardin d'ete excellent, great pizzas and a good ambiance within a walled garden just below the Cite walls

This place is a box of delights wrapped in a plain paper wrapper. Driving down the street its easy to miss the sign over the door but when you ring the bell the double carriage doors open to reveal a real gem of period property with Simone, the smiling owner, pointing us to our secure parking spot.
