Vintage is quite close to Gare du Nord Train Station, only need to walk 10-15 mins.The staff was extremely busy but they were friendly and helpful. Vintage is clean and the breakfast is very good. They serve three different bread and two kinds of cereal every morning. I stayed there for 4 nights and I was very enjoying staying there. Some people may complain that they can't use wifi when they are in their room, but what I think is why don't they leave their room and go to the lounge, which is e.
all reviews » The location is fantastic. I flew into CDG, caught the train to gar de nord and then the hostel is a very short walk up rue de dunkerque. Then further up the street is the pigalle and sacre couer just above that. Breakfast was good, plus there are supermarkets on the same street and you can cook your own food at the hostel. Wifi is free, staff are friendly. If you're prepared to accept that it's a budget option and don't expect the ritz it's a great choice. I fully intend to return. Hostel style rooms have only 3 beds in the room and a private shower/bathroom, which is great. A/C in the room. This hostel is a budget hotel as well, so it's good for solo travellers and families as well. Hotel provides very good breakfast (croissants were excellent!!!!), which lasts for 3 hours. Location was super, exactly 5 minutes from Gare du Nord. Would stay here again. I liked the secure internet sign on - each of us received a new code/sign on for each 24 hours so it was secure. We were able to open the window all the way to allow the rooms to cool (though they had an a/c it was better with the window open) with the heat wave going on. The staff were very nice. The breakfast was good. The coffee was also good. I like that they have very good buffet breakfast that suits a backpacking traveler. All the staffs were very accommodating and they were on their way to extend each help like for example when you ask about directions on metro and other establishment they easily grab the map and explain to people the exact way how to go to the destination. The hostel is close (5-7 minute walk) to Gare du Nord, Montmartre, and the metro. There are several shops and restaurants nearby with reasonable prices, even for Paris. It was an average hostel: free wi-fi (public areas only), breakfast included. Clean, friendly. The shower was very small (something that can't really be prevented in Europe) so a lot of water kept getting out from the shower curtain which causes the mold. Rooms were very small and no security for some belongings. The key card system is a mess. Every day the key stops working, and you have to trek back downstairs to get them to fix it. When someone else in your room fixes their card, then yours stops working again. The room isn't exactly big enough to fit everyone who should be in there. However, really this wasn't a problem. And the wifi is not good for there are so many people trying to use it that it can't hold on and drops all the time making it impossible to use it. Only one electric connexion in the room for three persons... No locket IN the room. Not that clean. I'm a girl and had to share the room with 2 boys. I guess they couldn't do any other way but still... Nothing at all. 1 charge port in a communal room and no wifi in the room, only in communal area ( as far as I could tell). Got snatched while waiting for taxi to Eiffel tower... Do not bother if any one try to talk to you..or asking for lighter... Especially if they are in group. Better just get a shuttle or taxi from hostel. Make sure your wallet is empty and avoid wearing expensive watch. The wall in the room looks borken for couple of years..well, it's paris, people loves old thing..i didn't take the shower here, I don't know ... only one socket in the room for three people. We didn't know we could keep our luggage safely before checkin and paid for storage at the station. Heating in room a bit erratic,but bearable. Jan 2013. Also, having to pay to use the computers was inconvenient, but at least there is Wifi. The cost of the internet using their computers is very high. The automatic machine for the food, beverage etc. that they have it is very expensive so it is like they don't even have them. Rooms were very,very small. Shower curtain was ineffective and left huge puddles on the floor. Telephone in room was broken. Wi-fi in lobby was incredibly slow...took half an hour to connect almost. Well, it's a hostel. We took two double rooms. The critical surfaces (beds, bathroom, desks) were nice and clean, but the wallpaper was very damaged, and the carpeting was rather old and dirty. The rooms are also very small. It's a budget place, so it was all within expectations, though. WiFi connection was unreliable. -The room was not really clean - it's really old house, old dirty carpet, we were affraid to touch anything -while taking shower, there was water everywhere in the bathroom. Bathroom's door didn't close and I lived in mixed room so it's was uncomfortable. Only one plug for 4 people!. Room is small. The internet connectivity is limited to the lounge and spotty during breakfast and high foot traffic. The hostel needs some TLC. There is water infiltration in the bathroom. The WiFi is very slow when works and it is only available in the lobby. The desk staff is not always friendly. The neighborhood can be scary for some solo travelers at night. Too small room for 4 person. The breakfast is a little bit simple. There is no wifi in rooms which is inconvenient.
