The taxi we took from the airport (170rmb which was scam) can not find the place he had to call the hotel and drop us at one of the entrance. There are two entrances. The studio apartment is in a new building, and the building is a part of a closed structure of approx. 10 buildings such as this one. It is surrounded by a fence and there is a guard at the entrance (nice) (It's not like it is unsafe neighborhood). Inside there is a tennis court, and plenty of grass. It is situated in an old Beijing district Hutong, which is probably the only bastion of traditional Chinese climate left.   The owner of Apricot Courtyard Inn Alex is very nice and friendly. We had some troubles finding the place and phoned up the number, he was very patient and even came out to pick us up! The place is very clean and very artistic! We love the open space in the courtyard and we can smoke there. The service is excellent! I high - The Apricot Courtyard Inn was the most welcoming and nicest place we've been to in Beijing. During our one week stay Alex, the host, was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel like home. The place was extraordinarily clean and very cosy. Alex speaks fluently English and gave us many tips to find our way around the traditional hutongs. With his help we were able to discover interesting spots and great local bars and restaurants off the beaten track. We will absolutely come back!
