  Ok, this is not a five-star hotel, but they don't charge a five-star price either. My opinion is, you get exactly what you pay for. It's in Lapa, this means it probably used to be in a slum. It is not in a slum now. It is 50 meters from Selaron staircase, a famous landmark. It is a vibrant neighborhood, so maybe it's not ok for children -- I would... what people say » n't know. We're a reasonably young couple, and for us it was just perfect. Stuff are very helpful, they do speak English (I was prepared to resort to - Good location in Lapa, not far away from the Arcos da Lapa or Cinelandia station. A rather tidy room. Good views from the windows.

  The staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. As dated as the decor was it was nice to have a spa bath and a sauna in the room. There are ongoing renovations at the hotel and it should be much nicer within 6 months. - In Rio de Janeiro there are no hotels at reasonable prices close to the international airpor... what people say » t. This was the only hotel found under 100.00 usd. It was a old love hotel, and being remodeled now. Rooms are so tiny you cannot pass your partner standing, one person has to sit on the bed. Everything is very, very old. We only had to stay one night as we were connecting from one city to another. Staff was helpful and friendly, room was moderate clean, just real old.
