  Overall was an excellent experience. Juliana met us at the port and brought us to our rooms. The bed was nicely decorated with fresh flowers in a heart shape. Breakfast is spectacular. Pancakes and the bruschetta being personal highlights. Close enough to everything, yet far enough away fro peace and quiet when you want it. The cabins are situated... what people say » best for two couples I think. We were in 7 while 8 was being renovated, so we had a lot of privacy. You can take day trips from there after enjoying - Pousada de Porto de Cima is a wonderful choice! The rooms are bungalows set in a forested area (no mosquitos) lush with exotic flowers and blue hummingbirds, very quiet, and yet just a small walk to the best restaurants and hubbub of the island. There is a isolated beach just down the hill from the hotel where you can swim and take peaceful walks. The family running the pousada are helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make everything wonderful, and I still retained my independe

  When I arrived I spoke not a word of Portuguese or Spanish and the lady on reception didn't speak English either but managed to persevere with me and help out to get me booked in etc. the staff were all very kind and helpful - small example and probably not a good one but I hung my towel out to dry and it started raining when I was out, so the sta... what people say » ff moved it out of the rain so it wouldn't get wet, and then put it back where I had it after it had finished raining (dry).
