Pousada de Porto de Cima is a wonderful choice! The rooms are bungalows set in a forested area (no mosquitos) lush with exotic flowers and blue hummingbirds, very quiet, and yet just a small walk to the best restaurants and hubbub of the island. There is a isolated beach just down the hill from the hotel where you can swim and take peaceful walks. Best welcome we had in Brazil! If you need any help or information they're always happy to help you! Good restaurant advice aswell (papoula: very good home made cooking). Nice, fresh and varied breakfast. Very cute and welcoming patio. Room was cleaned daily and bright :)

Vila Guaiamu benefits from being away from the noisier end of Morro de Sao Paulo and, consequently, is very relaxed and quiet . The extensive grounds are very well maintained and natural .One can relax in total privacy. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable though not luxurious and the staff are charming and helpful.
