in the cottage at the top of the yard set apart from the other
buildings, which was very romantic. It had the most comfortable bed you
can imagine, a roaring wood-burning stove, and a lovely view. Breakfast

You step back into history walking in here - You can feel the atmosphere of an old Hostelry in times gone by - and what a lovely little back terrace to sit and have breakfast or just a coffee. I thought the hotel's location on a roundabout may be a problem but in reality it was never an issue. Our room had secondary glazing and was very quiet at night. The hotel was friendly and I was very happy with our choice of location. They had their own parking but there were plenty of public car parks close at hand as well, although we never need

The service in this hotel was the best we have ever experienced, and we travel alot! All members of staff were professional and helpful - attentive to our every need, even anticipating the needs of our group. The hotel was delightful, full of character and the location just 5 minutes walk from the town center was ideal. The breakfast was generously proportioned and there was ample choice.

The swimming pool was great in the hot weather - it's not large but you can have a good swim all the same. Breakfast was really tasty and fresh, and the staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable and the room (I was in a twin)was nicely designed and roomy enough. Robes were provided which was great for using the swimming pool. The gardens were nice too.
