  The Cambrian is right in the middle of Llangollen...a 2 min walk from the main street. It has its own secure car park. The owner was helpful and friendly and breakfast was good. OK the decor is a bid dated but NOT tatty/grubby, it's no boutique hotel but that was of no concern to me! The whole place is very clean and the bed was comfy.   We had dinner in the Royal Hotel Restaurant. it was very enjoyable good steak and the wine wasfirst class. - The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was a perfect location for our stay. Me and the Mrs went to watch the downhill race, was perfect for it. - The views were fantastic, cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We found all staff friendly, our room overlooked the river which made our stay tranquil. Nothing was too much for staff. The breakfast was 5 star - excellent, hot, hot, hot.   I can't say enough nice things about this place. I got a virus on my first day so spent more time than intended in the accommodation. Great facillities; lounge with books and games, kitchen with free tea, coffee & condiments as well as space to store own food. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely rooms. Kids loved the lounge room with the huge selection of games for them to play. Great to have the use of a very clean , fully equipped kitchen too. I was upgraded to the top room in the building because it was Sunday and the lounge was closed on that day, so if you are looking for an extra large room, that was it, as it had a large bedroom, double bed, entry hall and large separate lounge room.
