Beautiful view from our east-facing room, with our own door to the outside. Lots of surface area in the bathroom - a big plus in my book. Yes, the dinner buffet is expensive (like most food in Iceland), but if you're a meat-eater and you're hungry, you won't be disappointed. The roast lamb was delicious. So was the Icelandic meat soup and the marinated fish. Generous breakfast buffet included in room price.

  This hotel didn't look like much from the outside but was beautiful and comfortable on the inside. The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant available to customers served very delicious food. This hotel is a good place to be for day trips to see nature ( mountains, glaciers, puffin tours, hiking,horseback riding etc...) we enjoyed our stay v... was die leute sagen » ery much. - Very friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was great and the proximity of Geirland to Kirkjubaejarklaustur was very convenient. The nearby waterfall and the "church floor" formation was nice as well. Great location for day trips to Skaftafell or Hofn.

  We enjoyed a lot: the hospitality of all the staff, the big house, the cottage, the horses!! We were given a really beautiful cottage even if we've booked a double room. We arrived at the hotel on a Sunday afternoon to a warm welcome and were given a free upgrade to a four bedroom apartment (No. 15).   The room was huge, clean and very comortable. The main building has a nice restaurant serving buffet at night. It's expensive but it's iceland, and the food was very good, with a choice of local products. Same for breakfast. There's a little gym room as well. The hotel is close to the sea, we can see the Vik cliffs from it. Vik - We were in what looked like brand new rooms at Hotel Katla Hofdabrekka. The location is very convenient to Vik and many outdoor activities along the southern coast of Iceland. We ran into a problem with something we wanted to do and the hotel staff was fabulous in helping us to find a solution -- a local personal tour guide. Very, very nice accomodations.
