  Beautiful location...a little off the beaten path, but we thought that was a plus. Well marked from the main road. It's a working farm, so don't expect luxury, but it was clean and comfortable. Would certainly stay here again. - It's a quiet place but fairly far from the main tourist part of Lake Myvtan but reasonably close to the attractions around the lake. The restaurant isn't bad but typically isn't budget priced but the food is good.

  the room is really cozy and we had a perfect rest while living in the Centrum hostel. And the price is reasonable to accept.   This was a truly hidden gem and certainly one of the highlights of our Icelandic tour. The resort is located in a remote fjord side location just north of Hofsos...Tranquility at its best. We stayed in room 4.... Stunning!!! Huge bed, tastefully decorated and every detail had been considered.... The food was incredible... All products locally so - Wonderful location right at the ocean surrounded by great nature. Our room was well designed and very cozy. The food in the restaurant was definetly very special and one of the best we had in iceland. Also breakfast is much better than in our locations

  The landlady is super welcoming and her food is excellent - locally sourced - one of the best places we've eaten. There's a natural hot spring hot tub in the garden and it's a magical place to star gaze (and even get to see northern lights if you are lucky!). Very romantic and quiet, close the Myvatn area and Husavik.   After a very busy month participating in work exchange in Akureyri, I booked a stay at Skjaldarvík the night before I was to fly to Reykjavik. And I am so happy I did. This guest house was like heaven on earth. It's outside of town (the perfect distance if you have a car), set next to the fjord, well decorated, tranquil, and surrounded by chickens... was die leute sagen » , friendly dogs, and beautiful Icelandic horses. I spent my last night in Akureyri wandering around the fields and relaxing in the guest house's comfo - We really enjoyed our two night stay at Skjaldarvík Guesthouse. It is situated just off route one, five minute drive from Akureyri. We found the bedroom very comfortable and the shared facilities more than adequate. We decided to dine in the guest house on the first night as the weather had taken a turn for the worse – delighted we did as the food and service were both superb. I’m only disappointed we didn’t dine there on our the 2nd night (I found the local Thai in Akureyri very average). Bre

  Very friendly staff, gave a warm greeting when we arrived. The apartment was very nice, spacious, clean and very nicely decorated. The location was great and right above an ice cream shop!   The rooms were very comfortable and had private bathrooms! There was a large, comfortable lobby with a view out to the fjord and we enjoyed relaxing there while soft music played in the background.   i enjoyed the room totally made of wood, the hotel is placed very near by the wonderful waterfall called "godafoss", we were welcomed very friendly and the dinner was excellent. - It was next to fall.   I enjoyed staying at the Hofsstadir Guesthouse, situated in most beautiful landscape. Wlan, terrace, spacious living area, lovely talks, and agin the wonderful landscape. The rooms were big and the nicest furnished I had in Iceland. Next to Hofsstadir, there is a very good restaurant, belonging to the wider family. Really nice place and very goo... was die leute sagen » d food. A trip to a puffin island in the area was amazing - and we wouldn`t have known about it without the guest parents. Dear guesthouse parents, t - We loved Hofstadir. Our hosts Toti and Gudny were so warm and welcoming. They were in the middle of a potato harvest when we arrived in the snow! Toti greeted us as a farmer and came back 45 minutes later as an outstanding chef! He provided on of our most memorable meals in Iceland-- perfectly prepared cod with fresh, new potatoes and plated artisticly. They also sell some of their products at Hofstadir such as birch syrup, jams and jellies. Everything was delightful. We will be back. - This was one of the best if not the best location we have stayed during our holidays in Iceland. Very beautiful landscape, nicely equipped rooms, very helpful staff and superb restaurant. Besides some activities in the area it is also a perfect spot to just relax. Small remark: If you happen to go to a whale watching tour in Dalvik from here calculate with a drive of 2h, it's 120km. We didn't and it was quite a rush in the end.

  Nice recent and clean bungalows close to a lava field with the volcano Hverfjall at sight and the lake just opposite the road, behind the farm where the reception and the restaurant is. The staff was very friendly and explain local sightseeing to everyone. Well located to discover the region. The Hverfjall you can climb in 10 minutes is just - I am still amazed of this guesthouse, because it is of the same uniqueness, that also brands the whole area around it! The staff was incredibly helpful (they would have planned our whole two days in this area perfectly for us, if we wanted them to!) and open minded. The breakfast was very good as well. But the most incredible part are the rooms themselves: You get such a good and cosy (and also romantic) feeling, once you enter your floor-heated, wooden-made room, that you don't want to leave
