  My husband and I are divorced, but we take our kids 9&12 on family vacations. We had adjoining rooms with huge screened in porches on the ground level. The view was incredible, but private. We had a direct walk out to the beach. We went kayaking, boogie boarding and shelling...all of which are right there. It's is not a huge commercial resort and we especially liked that - We loved the Island: in fact we wished we could live their as we liked it so much. "Not your typical people:" everyone was friendly and happy, inviting (no in your face type people or look at me, or us - not showy - quite private and inviting atmosphere (completely unlike the Florida Keys, which I have great disdain for, except its beauty).   We loved it!! We arrived at 3pm and our upgraded unit was ready. It was a newly renovated time share unit that was magnificent. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the staff responded immediately when we needed a couple of fixes to our unit. The ac control needed a battery and the repair was done immediately.
