We were met by the host in the carpark, she insisted on carrying our bags (we didn't allow her). She was very welcoming, warm and cheerful...I don't think we've ever been greeted more warmly in our years of travel. The flat is very nicely decorated with a living room / TV room and kitchen with table downstairs. Upstairs is a very comfortable bedroom and bathroom (tub w/shower). The kitchen was well equipped for self catering and our host had kindly included a container of eggs, a package of won.
所有评语 » Gorgeous comfy little hideaway. Tiggy is lovely and made us feel so welcome. Superb fish and chips from Lewis's ..actually did us for two meals.. bacon and eggs and bread provided for breakfast, and orange juice and muesli and fresh ground coffee...just excellent! Lovely walks along the coastal path to Mousehole and enough small shops to mooch around. Will be back!. We liked having the living area down and the bedroom upstairs. The fridge was supplied with good food, and we had everything one would need for an enjoyable stay. We loved the dutch door and the delightful lanes to get to the house. There was an excellent binder left with info and there were books & maps about the area. We felt personally cared for. Small, but charming and cozy rustic cottage in nice neighborhood in Newlyn. Ideal for two. Short way to a few but ok pub`s with good food. Also a good startpoint for walking the south-west coastpaths. A very friendly host Tiggy welcome and provide breakfast in the fridge, plus any information you may need. The cottage is the most charming little thing, a proper little love nest! Tiggy the owner is incredibly knowledgable and helpful, going out of her way to make sure you have all the information you need to make it a wonderful stay - I couldn't recommend orchard cottage more, we'll definitely be back!. Tiggy, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming, made sure we had extra bedding personally and full of recommendations, tips and hints for the local area. A very good resource! Make the most of her! Beautiful cottage, small and cosy, perfect for our needs (long weekend stay). Great location. This gorgeous little cottage was just a delight. Tucked away at the end of a narrow short lane it was a lovely place to stay. Very close to pubs, beaches, cafes and restaurants. public transport to nearby villages was just around the corner. loved it and would definitely stay there again. Beautiful little cottage with everything anyone would need to hand . In quiet area but central to everything. Spotlessly clean and tidy.Nice and warm and welcoming. Tiggy was lovely too, helpful and friendly and making our stay a very pleasant one which we hope to repeat one day. Very cosy cottage. Not a B&B but self-contained, but there is everything for a nice breakfast. Make sure you get detailed directions before you drive there, as it is somewhat hard to find. Ample parking at big harbour car park, 5 minutes by foot from cottage. The decorations and interiors are so warm and sweet, love it so much ! The house holder is warm and cute as well! She recommended us the tourist attractions which we need to visit, and the theatre she recommended is fabulous!!!. Very clean, great breakfast ingredients supplied ( really nice not having to get up to be at breakfast times in a usual b & b) very comfortable, .great location and lots of great information from the host. It is a cozy two floors house in Newlyn. It is good for both short stay and long stays and the hosts are hospitality and always ready to help. I recommend it. had a great time for the few days we stayed, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was just what we wanted. A lot of information from the owner available washing service available frest fruit & yoghurt in the fridge. Warm and cosy. Good location. Very comfortable, a clean, light and bright, tastefully designed cottage. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Thank you so much Tiggy , we will stay again. Compact, independent, private, cute, charming. Good attention to detail. The whole thing from when we arrived to leaving. Dog friendly and my pooch loves it here. Quietness location. I found the cottage cosy, and comfortable, perfect for two. Good bath and shower, and well appointed for the size. Very pretty and friendly. Lovely pictures on the walls, lots of character. Good location for visiting st. Ives and surrounding villages.Cosy and convenient for shops.Good breakfast. Nothing . Too expensive ! Could have stayed in a 5 star hotel with breakfast cooked for us for £95.00 ! Not Bed & Breakfast self catering instead. No headboard so had head freeze as bed was on outside wall ,weird woman knocking on door and hanging around most of the night very un nerving had to walk down dark lane to get to it some of the cottages boarnded up and others looked like squatters living in them, water one minute boiling hot next minute freezing cold ! No parking lane not suit. We're genuinely sorry we couldn't stay longer, and frankly had our next stop not been the airport for home, we would have asked her to extend our booking. No complaints at all. You don't need parking when you travel by train and walk to Newlyn from Penzance. We were nervous about the two top stairs with the light switches above. We would never have found it if Tiggy hadn't met us but we did miss an email that she had sent with directions. Well worth finding!. Parking is difficult, but you absolutely have to expect that in an old village. Creating a purpose built parking station (which would completely ruin the charm of Newlyn) is just not possible. Don't stay if parking is your top priority, do stay if you want a genuine experience in a gorgeous fishing village. Tiggy gave us all the insider information regarding where to park before we got there, which really helped. Nothing - I know other reviewers have mentioned the parking but to be fair, Tiggy did warn me on a good email with better directions and locations of where to park. There are very few spaces locally, so be warned. There was nothing about the cottage we didn't like!. There is no parking immediately outside the cottage but there is street parking just 100 meters away. This didn't prove to be a problem at all. Nothing. Shower was a bit tricky getting the flow and temperature right - all ok when having a bath. only gipe was no parking and it was a bit of chance getting a spot near by. Dogs are allowed - hairs can not be removed entirely too cramped for more than two people. The shower head and shower door, very hard not to get water on the floor and surrounding area. I think the bathroom does not need a bath. Just a shower would do. The wardrobe almost blocking the access to the bedroom. All good. Nothing. Nothing. A bit dirty when we arrived, the good breakfast promised was egg and toast. We only had one towel each, no hand towels. Cottage was very well photographed! Not as big as it seemed. Breakfast was stated as 'continental' but was bacon and eggs, not quite enough for 2 people. Needs a net curtain in the bedroom. The shower was very temperamental. Settee not comfortable to much like a park bench( to firm), bed not long enough. No private parking facilities and local parking is restricted to 3 hours max. during the day. Reduced parking fee from 4.00 p.m. until 8.00 a.m. but still had get up early to put another ticket on vehicle. Very expensive for what you got.Breakfast was included which wasn't up to much.Pack of ham,bread,eggs,yoghurt. Not much effort there.Front door difficult to shut.Needed makeover. Read previous report would not recommend.
