The staff were excellent with kids especially when we spent most of the day in hotel cos it was raining & they catered 4 us at lunchtime even though lunchtime was over they made sandwiches for us all & even the kids making a noise didn,t faze them at all! A lovely scottish family friendly cosy hotel. Excellent home cooked food. very comfortable bed. Well equipped room i.e. hairdryer, tea and coffee, shower mat, radio and television and more all provided in the room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay there again.

My initial thoughts were that it was little bit pricey for what I seen from the photos but was well worth it after our stay. staf very nice and friendly .food good simple andplenty of it .my single bedroom was quite big whichwas good for me because i had loads of birding gear and camera gearwith me. Very freiendly and helpful management and staff Excellent food for a 2 star hotel Very comfortable bed and clean fresh bed linen. The welcome, Good home made food, staff made you feel at home and when asked for assistance were more than happy to help. the excellent friendly service given by the staff, nothing was too much, very relaxed, caring and considerate to us all. staff very freindly and helpful. good central location. comfortable. value for money. 1.Breakfast was nice. 2. Only problem we had was trying to get the temperature right in the shower it was either scalding hot or cold but eventually managed to get it warm with abit of perseverance. N/A. room a bit cold to sit in at night while planing next day went out and bought small fan heater though must addmit didnt ask hotel if they had heaters them selves. My only quibble would be the poor bedroom TV which was very difficult to tune. nothing. 1. Too noisey from bar -smoking area immediately below room window. 2. Clean but would be lovely if modernised a wee bit. Noise from smokers congregating around the back door. Each window could be renovated to double glazed for about £800 each, and save energy. Perhaps dispose of the net curtains and replace with opaque film. first impresions .grass at hotel frontage and surrounding areas gave a false impression of what to expect inside.the same if you went in from the car park at the rear. Road traffic ... if you are at the front. Nothing, all was good. A bit noisey on a weekend. Couldn't have a shower as the water was too hot and there wasn't any temperature control!! Very loud music both Friday and Saturday nights so no sleep!!. The breakfast on a Sunday was too early and the staff were too rigid with the times making us feel unwelcome, even switching off the lights to hint time was up. The water temperature was also a problem in one of the rooms - too hot which could have been a health and safety problem. Didn't like the en suite. No window or ventilation and dampness on walls. The shower was difficult to regulate and almost burnt myself. The smell dampness in the room after 2 showers was not pleasant. My husband's breakfast was almost inedible on the 1st morning. Rooms were shabby, carpets were very stained in the bathroom, bed was not comfortable, and there was significant noise in the evening from the pub bar downstairs. Sorely in need of decorative upgrade, worn, stained carpets and bathroom needed gutting. Banister loose and there was no wi-fi connection. Mattress needed replacing as very uncomfortable. Grossly over-priced. In morning my friend found live bugs on his sheets not a good thing to find when your paying money.
