  It was a home from home, which is great after staying in hotels. The facilities were excellent and the location was great, just five minutes from Puerto del Sol. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You would need to speak some Spanish though, but the guy spoke very slowly and was very patient with us. - What an excellent place.   The host and her daughter are really kind people; however, their English skills are limited. I felt like I was staying with family. There is WiFi included so that's a big plus. The hostel overlooks a street with a few clubs/bars so it can get noisy at night. Keep in mind there are three shutters that you can close between your room and the noise o... 别人怎么说 » utside. Even though he can't speak English, he tried to explain everything and helped us to find some good place near by. The room was also quite large and comfortable for two people to stay.   Good location near the Palaces, Opera and Plaza Mayor but on a quietish side street. Good sized pleasant room. The room itself was a good size and was comfortable with plenty of storage space. The Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was not quite a full English but good by European standards. Location was super for direct transfers from the airport on the C1 train (2.50€) then less than 5 minutes walk. Location also excellent for Old City and you can catch a train direct to Atocha station (1.60€),

  Absolutely loved the Casa de Madrid- easily one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. Very friendly staff provided good help on the train schedule and wifi in short/late time. We met the hostress when leaving at the door and she was a nice lady! Unique experience and strongly recommend to those people interested in culture.
