I enjoyed the view from my room on the 8th floor.
There was a DVD player in the room and a nice size (36 inch?) LG flat screen TV. Since the weather didn't cooperate we were able to rent movies and watch them in our room using the DVD player.

The location was perfect,beautiful view of the beach and ocean. Nice to be able to sit on the balcony and relax. Staff was great!!! A super idea to be able to have a choice of several cold drinks,coffee or tea any time in the lobby. The buffet breakfast that is offered in Pier 14 was very tasty---a big variety to choose from everyday. So glad we picked this hotel to stay in. Anytime we are back in Virginia Beach I would definitely stay again.

The first night of our stay a storm came in with severe winds. The rain
came into our room under the balcony door. The next morning the staff
changes our room and was wonderful. The staff went out of thier way to
make our stay comfortable and my children feel like they were special. I
would highly recommend this hotel to families with small children. The
hotel was clean, the staff were excellent and the breakfast buffet was
yummy. We were very pleased with our stay.

Room and facilities were kept clean. Very nice. Staff was friendly, excellent, and responsive. Our bathroom sink was draining poorly upon arrival. The location was superb, within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, the 16th street pier and many stores. We didn't even have to move the car, we just walked everywhere.
The hotel was clean and smelled that way, too. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was pretty good. The indoor pool was at a soothing temperature. I really enjoyed my stay.

Checking in was super easy. We got the exact room we made reservations for. Every staff member we ran into was super friendly. Our room was very clean and was like a mini apartment. I liked the location. Close to comerce, shopping and attractions. So close to every thing within walking distance. The problem I experince was parking, The hotel do provide parking at a public high rise garage across the street from the hotel, most spaces are reserved and we had to ride around for a while before finding a parking space. Everything was great during our stay. The setup of our suite worked well. The suite was clean and the view was exactly what we wanted. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed at Newcastle Hotel in Virginia Beach in June 3013 with 5 other families. We had a Great time. The staff at Newcastle were wonderful! We loved having access to beach bikes provided by the Hotel. The Hotel location is wonderful! All five families said they would stay again. The Lighthouse restaurant located at the Hotel was friendly, clean, had really tasty food and so nice to have just a few steps away!
