FRom check-in to departure my stay was trouble free. OK the breakfast is a muffin and make your own coffee but there are also places nearby for a full breakfast if you wanted. For me
my stay was as perfect as any expectations. The no 38 bus that stops at the door gets you downtown in about 130mins depending on traffic.But the friendly people on buses made it a pleasant journey.

As a mom traveling with 2 teenagers, I thought this was a great place. It's an older hotel that could use updating, but it's clean, staff is friendly and it has free parking. It's perfect if you do not plan on spending a lot of time in your room. We left every morning by 9am and came back around 7pm, so it was perfect for the amount of time we spent there. It looks a bit run down on the outside, but inside the rooms have been renovated and are very nice indeed: meticulously clean, very comfortable. There was a fridge and a microwave in ours, very handy. Spotless bathroom. Free (ample) parking in SF is invaluable. Location is very good too, just a very short walk off the lively Union street, convenient for buses... Overall, definitely recommended, we'll stay there again if we're ever in the area.

It was much quieter than staying downtown, with easy access to the bus and not far from Golden Gate Park by car. Good restaurants within an easy walk. It's not a luxury hotel, but perfectly adequate and well cared for. Parking is limited, but it wasn't hard to find a spot in that neighborhood. - Friendly personnel, location, beds

There is no negative thing i would mention.
The room was new and clean. Breakfest ok. Really good position of the hotel is just perfect (about 10min to the Town Hall)! The park place is small but all the guests found a place while we were there.
And finally yes, there are some homeless people arround the hotel, but we didn´t feel uncomfortable or

My mom and I went to San Fransisco for just one night. When we started
looking at hotels we got really overwhelmed. Everything was so expensive
with poor reviews. Except this place. The reviews were decent. And we

I had a room that was large and very clean. Frig and microwave in room. It was easy access to the street, and I love this area of San Francisco. Close to Palace of Fine Arts, the Marina and shopping on Chestnut St. If the price is as competitive next year as this year when I visit San Francisco, I will definitely stay there.

The staff was very good, the location was great, the room was very basic
but clean. This is a funky old art deco style motor hotel that is
maintained to accommodate budget travelers-don't expect valet
parking, or luxury amenities, but do enjoy the no frills quick check in,
working ice/pop machines, in room coffee, and cable tv. And they
have smoking rooms if you are so inclined.

All desk staff were extremely courteous, polite and helpful.
Room Service even folded clothes that were on the floor and laid them on the bed.
I plan to return to san Francisco next year and would more than likely stay here again.
I'd recommend it if you are after a budget hotel that you are not planning to 'live in' while you are in town. - com
