  Very friendly and accomodating staff, beautiful spacious room with private bath, wonderful breakfast. A fantastic view of miles of coastline in both directions from the covered deck. Our children visited on the lanai and cracked fresh macadamia nuts. In the morning we drank rich Kona coffee, from the local landscape and delighted in sharing adventures and insiders knowledge over a perfect breakfast. Easy location to beaches, restaraunts, and sunny Kona weather. Kurt's family home surpasses any destination hotel or resort. We longed for it after moving on to other parts of the island. 5 stars.,

  Uncle Billy's has character! Lovely central garden and great view of it and the bay from the breakfast area. I love the papayas at breakfast time. Very pretty lounge. The free hibiscus blossoms are a nice touch. Coconut Willy's was our beer hangout. I really enjoyed the slack key guitar playing by Ben Kaili and the malasadas made by Baker Tom.   The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool. Walking down the pathway from the lobby to the beach was like walking thru a sweet little jungle ... I loved it! The Kona Islander Inn is like a gem in the middle of town.   Absolutely beautiful house - never seen anything like that for rent - it's been designed, built and decorated for a personal use, with great taste and stylish details. Great location - only a few minutes to volcano visitors center, 40 min drive from Hilo airport. Tropical rainforest with orchids starts right in the backyard!   Eric, the owner, is an extremely friendly and sympathetic guy. Normally he rents out the complete house as a retreat center to groups. When there is no group booking, then he rents out the 6 apartments(each like 80 qm size) in the house to tourists. Living there is more like being at home then being in a hotel. We stayed there for 8 days and had a great and relaxed - Everything! Eric, the owner,gave us a tour so we would know where things were. We had a 2 bedroom suite with lanai and bathroom for $90. Unheard of value. Laundry was down the hall and free with detergent and softener provided. There is a well stocked kitchen for use by all guests. Very quiet and pleasant place.
