  Staff very accommodating, fantastic value for the money - lovely (if a wee bit old and tired) room with very carefully thought out details such as quality hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee in the room (with real cream for the drinks - not powered stuff). It felt more like a family hotel than a chain hotel (and I mean that as a positive comment.)   Great location in central York, also one of the only hotels that allow one-night only booknigs. The rooms were lovely, great bathrooms all newly refurbished and airy. I left my sat-nav on show in my car, they even phoned me while I was out to let me know and then went to my room found my car keys and got it out for me!   The staff that were there were excellant and could not do enough for us.. Its situation to york was fantastic only a five min walk. - The staff member we dealt with at reception was very friendly, helpful and always willing to help at any point.

  This venue was chosen for the Millfield Beefeater pub, which we used for an AGM for our MX-5 Owner's club. The reception staff were very helpful in providing a suitable room for my wife who was recovering from surgery, providing additional pillows to make her stay more comfortable . We were - The entire stay was perfect. The location was ideal for our needs and the staff were superb.
