Freindly, welcoming and helpful staff. Delicious lemon cake as welcome in our room! Location was excellent, close to city walls, York Minster and shopping! Location of Gillygate was perfect for our brief stay. The hosts were very, very knowledgeable and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Decor was lovely and rooms were clean and pleasant to spend time in. There were some lovely touches in the decor; I loved finding the hairdryer in a beautiful Chinese style silk bag; plan to recommend Gillygate to friends planning to visit York. Very friendly and warm welcome to the accommodation, and it was nice to receive an email from the guest house prior to arrival asking for any special dietary or arrival requirements. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Hosts are very knowledgable of the local area and happy to help. Food was excellent. Would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a relaxing stay close to York city centre with the Minster being around a 10min walk away.

The owners were welcoming and friendly and the accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful - gluten-free bread was supplied specially for me, which was much appreciated. Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was immaculate and very comfortable. Also parking on site was a great bonus. The couple running the guest house were great. Very friendly. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, toast, yogurt, cereal and cook breakfast. It was very close to the town, only about 10-15 walk and there were plenty of restaurants nearby too. There was only two parking spot, one of which we had. Not sure where other guests parked so if you have a car it is not necessarily going to be parked on site. I would stay again and recommend this accommodation.

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome at the Aaron Guest House. Its location was excellent only a short walk into York centre with some lovely pubs and restaurants near by.
Breakfast each morning was lovely, a great start to the day.
We would recommend a stay here to anyone, couples or familys alike.
Julian and his wife run a very warm and friendly B&B and we'll definately return in the near future.

Jamal met us at the flat - very simple check in process. Having an allocated parking spot was fabulous. A bit of a walk to use the lift, but worth it with luggage. The location was fabulous - so close to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Also, close to Sainsbury. The apartment was not fancy, but it was comfy and clean. -

I stayed at the York Lodge for two nights. Didn't really know what
to expect after reading some of the reviews but I found it very
comfortable. Just check in and then you can come and go, there's no
reception or leaving your keys. Comfortable room and bed, generous
supply of tea, coffee, etc, and an excellent breakfast. Would definitely
stay there again.

Everything about the place was great. Tony and Allison were extremely nice and welcoming from start to finish. The room was also great, very comfortable and good value for money.
