  Fantastic environment for a family trip to marwell zoo! We loved theattention to detail in the hotel and rooms even down to the animal printmugs and penguin biscuits! We will definately be back and were eventalking about making a trip later in the year! - The staff were very friendly and helpfull, the food was great and theroom service

  I dont think the location could be any better, its right outside the gates to winchester cathedral. our room was almost stately, with a beautiful (yet very unpractical) roll-top bath... the shower was huge and one of the best I've used, but the surround curtain and the bath design meant that the floor pretty soon got flooded. Breakfast was very re... vad folk säger » fined, the full english was unrecognisable and wouldnt have looked out of place on masterchef, very tasty too. - The room was very spacious compared to many in Europe. It was very nicely appointed. It was close to the cathedral and the center of town. There were nice shops and sightseeing areas nearby. The staff was quite friendly and the pub had really good food and drinks. The stairwell and hallways were kind of like a tiny maze but we found that to be charming.

  The welcome from the staff, The room facilities were impeccable. I was concerned about noise prior to arrival as the accommodation is above a pub, there was no noise therefore a peaceful sleep was had by all.   the hotel was very efficient at check in and out. the room was lovely and clean. it seemed newly refurbished and very comfortable. we had an evening meal in the restaurant. the service was a little slow but the food was excellent.we have been 2 years in a row for our anniversary and cant fault it as so near to the shops and bars. - The room was cle... vad folk säger » an, had all facilities and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in !   All the staff we came into contact with were curteous, friendly and helpful. The Hotel and rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice of food. Ample parking. Handy for Winchester. Though there were Christmas Parties being held in the hotel function rooms there was no noise intrusion. The hotel had a nice relaxed quiet atmos... vad folk säger » phere. Were we to return to the area we would definitely consider revisiting this hotel again. - Decor light and airy, spaciousness, restaurant excellent, beds very comfy.   Lovely setting. Excellent communications when I had reason to contact the hotel directly. The recently refurbished rooms and restaurant were a real treat and the food was yummy. We booked some time ago and the new owners honoured our booking price which made our trip the bargain of the Century.   We stayed at the kings head for one night and ate at the restaurant there. The staff were friendly and accommodating, fitting us in for dinner at last notice when they were busy and allowed us to leave our car with them the following day. Our room was very clean and well presented, the bed very comfortable and enjoyed the overall feel of the place... vad folk säger » . - Arriving in the middle of a period of hot weather we were initially very uncomfortable in our room but the management went out and bought a fan. The food in the restaurant was very good and staff very helpful. Only a 10 minute drive into Winchester.

  We wanted a base close to the town and sports facilities and Just a B fulfilled this requirement. The room was self-contained and we could come and go as we pleased. It was tastefully decorated and furnished and the bathroom was fabulous and everything was spotlessly clean. We stayed for three nights and could happily - Very clean and high quality new, well-appointed accommodation, medium comfort large bed with a nice white sheets & duvet, plenty of space in the room, the fridge was a welcome extra. The bathroom facilities were very good. Close to the main attractions (10 minute walk to the main street). Plus most attractions in walking distance. They now have a blind, which seemed an issue (from another feedback) and the room is very private.

We weren't expecting breakfast to be included, so were pleasantly surprised to find a continental breakfast delivered to the room as well as milk, water butter and jam (for the coissants) already in the fridge. We had our small son with us and he was provided with crayons and a colouring chart which was very thoughtful and provi - Amy gave us an excellent welcome on arrival. the room was extremely clean and comfortable. since we were leaving early the next day, the staff brought over many food items for us to be able to have some breakfast before leaving. the food at the for and hound is very well priced and of very good quality.
