  My sister and I arrived earlier than the designated check in time and were greeted by a lovely staff member (Chris). He assured us that he would clean our room first in order for us to check in early. He also helped to carry our bags to our room and refused a tip. He was extremely accommodating and friendly.   We had a warm welcome after a very stressful drive in snowy conditions. Our car ran off the road! We phoned ahead to explain we would be late. We eventually arrived after midnight and were welcomed. We felt we had arrived at a warm and safe haven. We had a long sleep in the next morning to recover from our ordeal. Oban is a very pretty town, especially in the - Very good price and excellent location close to the town centre. The house was lovely and warm- essential in the winter months. The room had everything you need and coffee as well. They were very friendly and gave us all the information we wanted in a helpful manner.

  Had a lovely stay in room 2, which was very comfortable and had a view out to the front. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed on arrival. Breakfast was fantastic with a varied selection including crepes, waffles and pancakes which was a nice change from regular hotel breakfasts elsewhere. We throughly enjoyed our stay and met many tourists from around the world. "Mine host" answered any questions and queries in as full a way as possible. Could not be faulted. Good luck to them both.   As we made a decision quite late, most of the hotels were fully booked. However I dont regret. We got a really nice quite large room with amazing sea view. Staff were friendly especially nice guy who works at the reception and the bar in a basement. During check in we were informed that wifi works only in ground floor, however we had good connecti... vad folk säger » on in our room. Housekeeping definitely did they best, room was nice and tidy. I work in 4 stars hotel so I can't compare... but I'm satisfied and I c - Clean, comfortable. Like living in a big family home. Breakfast was honor system, you cooked or ate and then paid the prices in a honesty jar. Made our own breakfast, cleaned up after or selves and talked with lots of different folks from all over. Beds were great, showers had plenty of hot water. Great price. Pub under neath the hostel, I can see that in the summer with the outside pub overflow it would be loud.

  Bedrooms recently refurbished to a great standard, especially loved the light up mirror :) The breakfast was fantastic just what you need after a great night out in Oban. The hotel is very central for everything in Oban from the great chippie to the even greater bars. Would recommend if you are staying in Oban for an event in the Gathering Halls... vad folk säger » as you are only a stone throw away. Dont forget to nip in to the Tartan Tavern facing the Hotel entrance. This Hotel proves you should never judge - We went to the Rowantree for our 3rd anniversary for an overnight stay away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the steakhouse (onsite) was delicious! I highly recommend the fillet steak, cooked to perfection and super tasty! They are also bike friendly, with a safe car park located at the back of the hotel (so off from the main street). It is also ideally located for walking round Oban, less than 5mins to the bay. Altogether we had a lovely time away!

  Very friendly helpful staff! Great location on the waterfront. Very clean and spacious! Guests mainly in their 50s (like me) so ideal place to stay! Meals cooked on the premises and generous portions. Quiet hostel so if you want to party _ better go to the backpackers down the road! - As a senior member I enjoy the security and comfort.   The friendly atmosphere of Michael and Marion was the best part of the stay. We stayed in many B&Bs on this trip and their service and hospitality was superior to all others we stayed at so far. Even though we got lucky and were able to stay only one night after a cancellation we became friends and felt like we were there for a week. Their place is absolutely a five star experience on - We only stayed one night, but Marion and Mike made us feel so very welcome from the moment we stepped in the front door. The Hotel was spotless. Our room was beautiful and the view was spectacular. We even managed to catch a glimpse of the sperm whale in the bay, from our bedroom window. Breakfast was excellent. This is one of the nicest Hotels in Oban (and we have been in a few) we will definitely be back; as we were so sorry we couldn't stay a couple more days. My parents were also visiting

  My wife and I stayed at Ayres Guest House for one night as part of a tour of the west of Scotland. We were met by the owner who was very courteous and should us to our room which was on the first floor and faced the bay, the views were beautiful. The breakfast was ample and a good selection of continental and traditional cooked - Excellent location with great sea views from the front of the building . Nearest pub is next door & also very convenient for the town, trains & ferry's. The room was fairly small but clean and cosy and the beds were very comfortable. Staff were friendly & helpful. Will recommend and if ever I'm back in Oban would happily stay here again.
