This guest house is in a wonderful location, right below the walls of the castle. the owners are very friendly and were very helpful.
the room we stayed in was twin room 4. It was very clean and comfortable, the shower was excellent.
We decided to have breakfast which was good value at £4.95 .
We parked outside and dropped off our bags and then took the car to the long stay car park next to the station, just round the corner, it cost £8.90 from Friday night to Sunday night which I thought was g. alla recensioner »
The room was simply furnished but purposeful, and was immaculately
clean. The wall mounted tv was annoyingly small, but its unlikely anyone
will be spending hours viewing it. The house is situated slap-bang in
the town centre, and there is limited on-street parking across the road,
though only free from 6pm until 8am. The solitary staff member was
friendly and helpful.
Cannot fault this guest house, I traveled up to Shrewsbury by train from
South Wales to attend a wedding at Rowton castle, the guest house was
only 2 minutes walk from the station. They also booked a local taxi for
me to go to the wedding reception that evening.
Room was very comfortable with en suite, clean and staff couldn't be more helpful. The filling breakfast started off the day very well.
Perfect location for the Shrewsbury Archives just across the street, and just a few minutes walk from the railway station.
From the moment I arrived I was greeted warmly. astonished at my room [for the price] unfortunately I couldn't take breakfast...... time restrictions so am unable to comment judging by the other facilities I imagine it would be excellent!.
Bed was very comfortable and rooms had all the facilities needed, along with extras (biscuits with the tea and coffee - is a lovely touch)
The staff were friendly and the breakfast was well cooked.
Many positives - the location was spotlessly clean, the room had good views, room was nice and warm, and very comfortable; owner was very friendly - overall a very enjoyable stay.
+1. Location : two minutes' stroll from Shrewsbury station. +2. Lovely quirky old building on three levels. +3. Friendly family-run enterprise.
Given the nature of the building (ancient!) the very best has been made of the potential.
Good to be met and attended by Cristel the owner.
Great atmosphere and character, handy to town, surprisingly quiet considering on a busy street. Very friendly owner.
A clean and tidy guesthouse which is ideally located within the city and only a short walk from the train station.
Very comfortable and clean, an excellent location for the station and town. Very good breakfast too. Thanks.
Centrally located, very clean and well maintained, excellent breakfast served quickly. Ideal for business.
Great old Tudor house, next to the train station. Neat, clean with nice owners. Good value for the price.
Nice people running the place, helpful and friendly. Excellent location in town and good value.
Very close to the station, good for the money and surprisingly quiet for the location.
Nothing more to say it was very good staff brilliant and helpful would go again.
Pleasant, friendly staff. Charming room in lovely building in a lovely town.
It was very close to the train station and centrally located within town.
The spanish staff were friendly, kind and professional. We loved them!!.
Lovely friendly host, excellent location, room with lots of character.
close proximity to the railway station and the centre of Shrewsbury.
There were no issues with checking on or the room facilities.
location is perfect
also really clean and tidy.
love it!.
nice, clean very handy for centre.
Def stay again :).
Excellent location.
Good value for money.
Very polite staff. Room was comfortable.

Location to railway.
Staff, location, ambiance.
Friendly, convenient.
Everything !.
Everything.
Central location I'm the scenic town. Price was the most
reasonable on this expensive area. Shower had good pressure + mattress
was good quality.
A short walk from Railway station, and town centre.
central location in heart of Shrewsbury.
Breakfast.
Proximity to the railway station and the shops.
Room was clean and pleasant.
Very clean and tidy.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room 4 over looks the street so it can be noisy, but it was good to see a bit of life!
There are quite a lot of stairs so don't take too much!!.
For the price? couldn't be faulted.
Creaking floorboards, and slightly run down/ tatty decor, like mould on the shower ceiling - but this is due to the age and style of the building.
No dislikes, room will probably need a new carpet, and skirting board painted, in the foreseeable future - didn't affect my stay but music from nearbye pub/club may affect some.
-1 Restricted check-in times (perhaps just on the day of the week I stayed? I was there on a Sunday). I had to make some quite significant changes to a tight rail itinerary.
To many stairs and too steep, but that's what you expect with an old building.
Unfortunately the sink in my room was blocked.
The room was sterile looking, mostly white, with black painted beams. No pictures on the walls. That's my only quibble--and it's just a matter of personal taste.
Would have liked there to be more advice on where to see and eat.
The light could have been brighter in my room because it had a sloped roof that cut off some of the light.
Will need new carpets on stairs in foreseeable future.
Noise from the street.
parking might of been a issue but the hosts were excellent in assisting.
Street noise (at night).
Nothing.
Small room a little noisy.
Stairs.
Nothing.
Climbing the stairs, especially at the entrance from street. Delicious
home made biscuit only giving on first night. Upon requesting more tea
bags, only one more was given! Breakfast should have been included -
£4.90 is too expensive per person.
Too many stairs.
facilities were a bit basic.
small servings at breakfast.
just generally old and in parts a bit jaded.
Curtains pretty but gave no protection from light or street lamps.
Parking is scarce. Had to park about a mile away. No
advice/help given.
It is sad that this guest house is affected by loud noise until 2a.m. from a pub nearby.
The noisiest place we have ever stayed. Very close by are nighclubs and bars, a kebab house and taxi rank and the music/screaming/swearing/shouting went on until 5am. Carpet was dirty and the bathroom stank of cigarettes. TV was miniscule and I really didn't like paying up front before we'd even seen our room. We thought it would have helped if the guesthouse had been honest about its location and how noisy it can be. Paint peeling and scuffed and generally looks tired in the communal ares.
Family room far to small if you had children
Coffee making ,kettle sitting on the window seal with cable hanging very unsafe if you have children as this was a family room
Not value for money at all.
