In spite of arriving very late at night and having to leave early on the day I left, I was still treated with great courtesy and pleasantness and nothing was too much trouble. - friendly service, made to feel welcome, comfortable and freshly decorated room, double bed and spacious room for solo traveller.

Probably the best B&B I have stayed in within the UK (and I have been to a lot). Very friendly owners and lovely clean room! We stayed in the Captain's Room which was nicely decorated with very large bathroom. The room had an ironing board, hair dryer, coffee and tea maker, and pretty much any toiletries one could need. I cannot praise the Fernbank enough. The owner could not have been more helpful or hospitable. The hotel is beautifully decorated cared for. The public areas were very relaxing to sit in. The room I stayed in was spotless and very comfortable.

The staff were excellent and made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel was furnished well and very comfortable, lovely gardens to relax in if the weather was good and a very nice heated indoor pool. Breakfast was excellent with a big choice and plenty of it. The Fernbank delivers a high quality of service and comfort and we would certainly go back.

absolutely worthy, the owner of the place is lovely, i really felt at home at oaklands... if you're planning to go to the island, this is the place to stay, best quality for money - nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors - they even ordered good weather for our stay!!! Lots of little details that were great, many of which mentioned before. A top notch English breakfast for me, and a willingly adapted breakfast for my Turkish girlfriend. Silent fridge and silent ceiling fan were both much appreciated in the room. Ensuite shower also good with plenty of power. -

My children really loved staying at Sandown Manor: they called it the "best hotel they'd ever stayed at". The enjoyed the animals, games and playroom very much. The owners were extremely kind and helpful with us. They made us feel at home and willing to come back very soon.
