The owners were both extremely helpful and friendly.
We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. Our room was just as the owner described and had views to die for.
The food was very good, speedily prepared and well presented.

Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

Beautiful room, very comfortable ( best sleep I had on my whole trip). They were exceptionally friendly, they did everything they could to accommodate our needs. The breakfast was excellent. The house was beautiful and very nicely decorated. They made me a packed lunch as I was at a course all day. The rooms were very comfortable and had beautiful views. I would recommend this guest house to everyone, I would even suggest going on a holiday/break just to stay here!!

carried our bags and gave the kids lollies when we left. He went the

We stayed 3 nights at this delightful guest house set in the peaceful surroundings of Near Sawrey. Our hosts were very welcoming without being over bearing. The double room with en-suite facilities was spotless with a beautiful view over the wonderful countryside.

Very pretty cosy cottage .Nice touch when were asked if we would like a cup of tea lovely home made scones arrived plus tea on day 1 and delicious lemon drizzle cake on day 2.Breakfasts were yummy plenty of choice just for starters and the full" Cumbrian Breakfast" and Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs, real tea in a teapot and ground coffee well what more can you say but excellent . Bedrooms lovely and warm and lots of nice touches .Definitely stay again .

We knew the distance hotel was from main tourist areas like Windermere. The hotel is down a long quiet country lane. The breakfast was "spot on". Thank you for your service. The bar is popular with other holiday makers i.e caravan and lodges and the price of the drinks were reasonable. The room was comfortable. -

Great service, staff very welcoming and great location and views. Will certainly return when next we next visit the lakes. The breakfast service was the best we have had from any hotel/guest house. The lodge in the Vale was very clean and the staff including the gorgeous dog were very helpful and friendly, the fact they didn't have facilities to cook meals didn't bother us as they recommend the pub up the road where you get 10percent off your meal if you stay at the lodge!
We loved the continental breakfast and its only ten min drive to keswick!

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. So clean and well maintained, just lovely. We arrived extremely late (00.10) but were greeted with a warm, friendly smile by Steve who was so attentive. The rooms were of good size, and the breakfast was of a generous size. We thought we had booked for 3 nights, but turned out to be 2. Barbara was most helpful, and managed to stay the 3. Very friendly. 10 out of 10. -
