Boasting spectacular views of the North Devon coastline from the hilltop town of Lynton, The North Cliff Hotel is positioned some 500 feet over the shore below. Well within the Exmoor National Park, guests can enjoy horse riding, walking and cycling in the immediate area.
Most of North Cliff’s rooms have stunning views of the rugged coastline, famous for stories of pirates and smugglers. Each room is decorated in light tones, some with large or double aspect windows to make the most of the fresh sea air. An LCD TV and a kettle for tea and coffee are included.
Meals are served in the bright dining rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Lynmouth Bay. The town of Lynton is just 200 metres away, and has many shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy.
The local area has many options for the active traveller. From surfing to fishing to rock climbing, the hotel is happy to provide information of nearby activity businesses.

Vad folk säger
- Lovely friendly feel
- Friendly, helpful staff
- Keeps you fit if you walk the hill to Lynton every day (take a torch if walking at night as limited lighting)
- On the path of some lovely walks
-Beautiful views from the bedroom
-Lovely breakfast everyday
-Nice to have the option of a lounge and bar and restaurant in the hotel (although we didn't use it).
Excellent, spacious room (no.2), spotlessly clean and neatly furnished. Excellent food. Lovely lounge, dining room and breakfast room. Wonderful views on the sea shore and cliffs below at Lynmouth Bay. Caring, considerate Kate, the hotel owner! Faultless! Thoroughly recommend.alla recensioner »
We very much enjoyed our stay (the third time) and hope to come again. The owner (Kate) was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which we much appreciated.
Friendly and helpful greeting on arrival. Great sea view from the room. Wonderful location. Very nice breakfast. Comfortable beds. Clean.
Lovely hotel, great breakfast, comfortable room with sea view.
Kate, the owner very helpful and friendly. Will go back.
Great location and beautiful views from the bedroom bay windows. Very friendly reception and breakfast was lovely.
Friendly helpful staff. Views. Dog friendly. Nice breakfast. Proximity to Valley of the Rocks.
Loveley staff very welcoming. Rooms and beds very comfortable.
The views. Breakfast.
Friendly staff.
veiw from bedroom fantasctic.
The breakfast was good.
The view was good.
- Would be nice to have some info about the restaurant in the hotel in the room so we knew when breakfast was, and what nights there was the dinner option etc (but this is a very small and really not negative comment!).
The large, heavy duvets without separate sheets. Also, the beds were rather hard and would be improved by the addition of thicker mattress covers...
Poor shower. Came out at a dribble - one minute hot, next minute cold.
Nothing.
Nothing much to dislike. Would have preferred a bath as opposed to shower and extractor fan had a fault making it noisy. Bed and pillows could have been better.
Cold reception area.
Parking could be a problem.
The hotel, although very clean, is dated.
The bathroom smelt of urine. The curtains may well not have been there they were so thin.
The advertised price at the hotel was less than I paid which annoyed me somewhat.
