I have stayed there many times, starting in the mid 1970'S. It
became a luxury hotel after that, and this is the first time I stayed in
the more modern era. In general, I liked everything, but especially the
staff. I feel they gave outstanding service. I arrived without a wallet
and no money to pay the cab. The hotel staff graciously paid the cab

The hotel was charming and inviting. The location was perfect for us. I was traveling with my daughter visiting another child that is taking a gap year and is in the Oxford Tutorial College. she was able to get to us and we got around the town wonderfully. The staff were all helpful and informative. The environment was cozy and warm which was greatly appreciated because the weather was chilly and wet. Would definitely recommend to others.

This is no ordinary B & B but a century old pub situated in a quiet residential area, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 from the city centre, with friendly helpful staff and excellent food at a good price. I stayed two nights and had intended going into the city for the evenings but ate and drank in the pub instead, great food and cask ales I really enjoyed it - even the locals were friendly! I was there for research at a University college a mile or two away and it was raining so the
