The M5 motorway is just over 10 minutes’ drive away providing onward travel to Bristol and beyond. The major port of Plymouth is just under an hour away by car. Exeter University is 15 minutes' walk away and a 5-minute stroll from Exeter Central Railway Station.

Neat rooms, very spacious and had that fresh happy feeling. Clean and welcoming - lots of different teas and coffees and a luxury to choose upon arrival or before next morning's breakfast! Staff were very helpful and polite as well as eager to go out of their own way to make your stay more comfortable to easy. Breakfast was pleasant and plenty of choice; continental croissants, museli other cereals yogurt and fruit were available or a hot breakfast that was cooked specially to your own liking.
alla recensioner » The Townhouse was a delight and I will definitely stay again. The room was perfect and splendidly clean and the bathroom was really lovely. The Townhouse feels like a home away from home and is a perfect place to be. It is close to the station and the shops and is in a safe residential area. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly prepared. I really couldn't recommend this hotel more highly. I thought the hotel was lovely and such a surprise for the price. The breakfast was brilliant, the staff very friendly and helpful. I have stayed in some really impersonal, bland, corporate hotels for this price and this was so different. Really lovely. Big bright room and lovely extras like toiletries, chocolate, real coffee in bedroom. Just very thoughtful. We found the Townhouse convenient, stylish, large comfortable room, very pleasant and supportive staff, excellent breakfast including delicious home made blackberry jam, helpful 'residential' facilities for 24 hour car parking. Definitely value for money as well as an invigorating experience. David and Chrissie. Cant say enough about how helpful Stanka was. She was a lovely caring host who helped us graciously with our flat tyre and with directions about the area. Although the accommodations were fair Stanka made our stay most excellent. A lot can be overlooked with great hosts. Really enjoyed relaxing in the garden:). We were there to visit Exeter Uni. Short walk to both from Town House. Staff were friendly, hotel quiet, good breakfast and comfortable (stayed in Twin / Darcy on 1st floor) Big room overlooking garden. Good WiFi and TV also had DVD player.Good tea / coffee etc in room. Would definitely return. My husband and I stayed at the Town House for one night while Christmas shopping in Exeter. I cannot praise it highly enough -the staff were friendly, the place spotless and it was in a good location for walking into the City Centre. The breakfast was delicious! Will definately return. The accommodation was well positioned and within walking distance of everything in Exeter. The room was a good size with comfortable bed and good facilities. Very friendly & accomodating staff: I needed to change my room & they went out of their way to do it. The room they moved me to was lovely - comfortable, nicely decorated and spacious. The facilities in the rooms were great especially for the price, and the breakfast in the morning was also lovely. Very friendly staff in a beautiful old town house, located a few minutes walk from both the town centre and the train station. The place has a relaxed, independent b&b feel and they let you leave your luggage there all day. Also, free wi-fi is a bonus. Stayed here before heading off on the South Coast Path for a three day walk. The place was spotless, the breakfast excellent and our room was large and well set out. It is exactly midway between the station and the city centre, which is very handy. The reception staff was lovely and the room was clean and nicely decorated. The Town House was a wonderful find - peaceful, clean, welcoming, and very comfortable. I walked into town and had dinner - it took only 10 minutes. Brilliant Hotel/B&B Forget the major's, this smal friendly hotel has ticked the boxes for a short stay, great breakfast with loads of choice and fresh fruit etc and if the weather is good enjoy the walled garden. Lovely single room, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Very friendly staff. Bathroom was lovely although separate to room and no separate shower. Street parking available outside. Great value for money. The hotel is a refurbished Victorian building. Some of the furnishings are a little tired, but immaculately clean. The ensuite room was thoughtfully done and very clean. The bed was comfy and the room was warm. the hotel is very cosy and welcoming. It is scrupulously clean and the staff are great. Parking was on the street but there was no problem finding a place close to the accommodation. My original room was on the ground floor, next to the front door, reception desk and dining room, so it was pretty noisy. It was also very small, draughty and needed some renovation. It would have been useful to know about the location of the room before booking; if they had not been able to move me, I would have moved to another hotel. Nothing!. The room had slightly too much furniture considering its small size. I didn't get a chance to have breakfast because it only starts at 8 but the manager kindly gave me a refund . Room was a double and was fine for one person but may have been rather small for a couple. Pillows could be a bit softer. Would prefer a shower to a bath, but it was clearly advertised as such. If you are disabled you would have difficulty accessing the rooms on the first and second floors. the only miniscule negative and it really wasn't a problem...I couldn't get behind the bed to plug in my phone which also acts as my alarm clock, so had to leave it plugged in on other side of the room but this really wasn't a problem at all. No dedicated parking, but I always found a space on the road outside so wasn't a problem. Bathroom very compact- Ok for us small people but might be a squeeze for the larger traveller. lack of parking was an inconvenience but not impossible. Only downside was lack of parking, although we were given a resident permit, there were no spaces. Nowhere to put anything down in the bathroom!. Nothing really!. Nothing of note. More clothes hanging space would have been useful. Can't fault a thing... Everything else was great and for the price we paid excellent. Shower door didn't shut properly. Parking could be a problem?. Nothing!. Nothing I can think of. Nothing.
