  Comfortable room with nicely stocked breakfast and snack area including fresh fruit. It gave the appearance that care has gone into making a pleasant guest room. Near a bus stop and easy to get in at any time. Free fairly quick reliable wi fi. A sure bet for a decent stay in Edinburgh. - The host family is really nice.   The Dene Guest House was the perfect choice. Not only I was provided with a clean, spacious and beautifully designed en-suite bedroom with great views but I had as well the valuable help of Ilio and Hamish in every possible aspect (from giving advice on how to spend leisure time to pointing me in the right direction whilst I was looking for a job ... vad folk säger » in the city). The owners are extremely friendly yet never intrusive or insistent. I am already planning to go back soon! - Perfect location, close to centre of town. Received a very warm welcome, lovely people running the bed and breakfast in a relaxed, efficient way, they couldn`t have been more helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and had all I needed, the house itself is a beautiful old Edinburgh town house. Fantastic breakfast and I look forward to staying again for my next great night out in the big Toun!

  The owner was so friendly and really made you feel at home. Breakfast was lovely, more than I could eat, and when we needed to be up and out early on Sunday, he was happy to bring breakfast forward for us. Best of all, I was never cold - radiator was more than up to the job of heating the room. Instant coffee powder and milk generously supplied and replenished. In easy reach of centre, with necessities shopping, pubs and eateries nearby. Sufficient public parking space, bus stop a few meters away. Not exactly cheap in overall terms, but good value for Edinburgh (sigh).

  Lovely quiet setting in tree lined street with excellent bus access to city, also within walking distance. Welcoming owners who provided us with a very comfortable, airy and tastefully decorated bedroom and en suite looking out onto mature trees. We were also provided with an excellent continental breakfast for a small extra charge each day which... vad folk säger » we ate at leisure in our room overlooking the trees, enjoying the antics of the resident grey squirrels. - This is a magnifcent place to stay, clean friendly spacious, comfy bed, huge bath, ( that ran out of hot water) however is in a great location 5 mins drive from the centre, quiet relaxing and all round a fantastic place to stay and would highly recommend it

  The most outstanding feature of Garfield Guest House is the staff, all of whom are friendly, flexible, and helpful. A close second is the delicious and generous breakfast, with locally sourced sausages and salmon, several menu choices each morning including vegan and vegetarian options. Buses to Old Town, New Town, and Leith stop within a few step... vad folk säger » s of Garfield, and those places are all relatively walkable as well -- within about 2 miles. Within half a mile, there are a few takeaway restaurants, - Martin and Michelle were absolutely amazing! Really easy going and friendly. They went above and beyond to help us with our trip and to make sure we were comfortable with our stay. The breakfasts were great and they even made other guest's meals that weren't even on the menu!! They both work really hard and long hours and always have a smile on their faces. They made the start of our trip to Edinburgh.

  Walton was extremely functional and efficient in busy Edinburgh. Visitors intending to spend more time out of the room than in will find it fuss free, clean, and functional with a touch of comfort. The family room was great. Was in after the reception was closed and out before it opened. Had no problems.
