We had a wonderful stay there. A nice pub in the middle of the New Forest. Lovely renovated room separate from the pub so very quiet and peaceful. A full English breakfast was included that was much more than we could possibly eat. We will stay there again when we are in the area. Fantastically helpful staff, very relaxed proper local pub with lots of extra little touches. Log fires, great home-cooked food, perfect setting. Very clean, fresh, well designed rooms slightly separate from main pub. Couldn't have been better.
alla recensioner » I absolutely loved the staff, especially Simon and Ged. The place really felt like a home away from home, and I felt like a 'local' even though it was my first time there and I was travelling alone! I also tried the chili, and it was delicious. Staff exceptionally helpful. They even gave us a lift to the motor museum and picked us up at 10.30pm. At no extra charge. The breakfast substantial and well cooked and set us up for the day, Definitely go back to this traditional country pub. The location-it's really part of the New Forrest but is only a few miles from Southampton making it ideal as a stop off before a cruise. The rooms are really bed-sits and roomy and the pub which it is part of is lively and serves good food. Right in the heart of the New Forest and easy access to Lymington to catch ferry to IoW. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast - just wonderful. Good for dogs, such a friendly place to stay. The food and welcome were excellent. The location is lovely, and the atmosphere is that of a real pub - no pretensions. They have mastered the art of fab food and great beer!.
